The story at 6:02 OH MY GOD. That is honestly some of the funniest shit I have ever heard. Just imagining that scene play out had me crying laughing...Reminds me of Andy Kaufman's style of comedy.
Really like this host. He's really funny but doesn't make the mistake other interviewers do, which is trying to outdo the comedian. He knows when to step back.
Timmy Boy I completely agree with Diana Woods. You look at Doug Benson and even legitimate comedians/writers like David Steinberg, and they're truly awful hosts. Paul yields to his guest every time, and IMO you can tell they appreciate it. I know it made me earn a lot of respect for him.
Huh, I mean yes, Paul is amazing. But I don’t think it’s stepping back that makes him good, he is always engaged. I think the difference isn’t that he is working with the guest for laughs. Paul is an improv legend and so he is good at looking for the humour and joy in the conversation with the other person and not in competition with them.
I had a bizarre reaction to that joke Zach's friend told about the board game. My body rejected the impulse to laugh, and instead I just breathed in and out through my nose violently and rapidly for like a minute straight...
Could someone tell me what the "theme song" is that plays at the beginning and end of Speakeasy? I'm trying to find the groovy little rap song that loops that track (or something very similar) - reminiscent of US3's "Cantaloop (Flip Fantasia)". Many thanks.
Hey Zack you need to provide a healthy bee colony for your blueberries. You can hirer bee keepers to set up and maintain bee hives on your property all over NC. I doubt you'll ever see this...
I would love a cocktail. This show is not recommended for alcoholics. The bummer kind. Not the fun alcoholics. For them, the recommendation is inverse.
I became interested in Zach Galifianakis after watching the comedy interview with Hilary Clinton. I wanted to see what his actual personality is like....

I'VE NEVER LAUGHED SO HARD IN MY LIFE WHEN HE TALKED ABOUT THE BOARDGAME IDEA
Really like this host. He's really funny but doesn't make the mistake other interviewers do, which is trying to outdo the comedian. He knows when to step back.
You're joking? I mean I like him too, but it's a plastic personality, always looking for a bit. Funny though!
Timothy O'Shea You think? Maybe I haven't listened to enough, he's sweet though isn't he :)
Timothy O'Shea look up his standup.

between 2 ferns is on the same level as speakeasy..both equally brilliant and enjoyable
The chemistry here is absolutely flawless. Genius.
Arguably two of the funniest people ever. Especially when just talking.
If I was in the audience and a stand-up comedian opened with that *that* joke, I'd probably piss myself laughing.
Best guest ever on Speakeasy.
Great interview! I'll check out part 2!

Wow so many great jokes I could quote here!
The only guy to be on this show who's just downing his drinks. For the win Zach.
Zach Galifianakis rules!
Hilarious.. now I know why there hasn't been a Pod F. Tompkast for so long. He's busy doing high-speed internet shows with celebrities
Any chance Mike Birbiglia will be on here sometime?
I had a bizarre reaction to that joke Zach's friend told about the board game. My body rejected the impulse to laugh, and instead I just breathed in and out through my nose violently and rapidly for like a minute straight...
paul's reactions are hilarious in these. It must be a "character" he plays....
hahaa!! best episode evah!
That board game joke was really funny lol
LMAO... that joke is shockingly dark and funny as fuck.
I know I should know this but what's that song at the beginning
It's called spooky by the classics IV.. but i can't seem to find out which version it is..

***** "My dad took him to a priest because he farted on my head"
God this is so fucking funny
Anyone kinda see Andy Kauffman's genius in Zach Galifianakis? I have the same awkward hilarious feeling when watching him.
Best laugh @ 2:03
Hahaha!!! Is this Internet?
This needs to be labeled Speakeasy. Can't even search for it.....
Man, Paul hates it when the guests look at that camera behind them.
He was under the tutelage of Randy Tutelage.

shakespeare in the dark ... genius
Why do you always wear such gorgeous suits? Please never stop.
My name is Paul F Tompkinsagain.
Does that mean that you normally don't have fun talking with the people you interview?
Hey Zack you need to provide a healthy bee colony for your blueberries. You can hirer bee keepers to set up and maintain bee hives on your property all over NC. I doubt you'll ever see this...

Paul F. Tompkins turns into Dave Grohl.
I would love a cocktail. This show is not recommended for alcoholics. The bummer kind. Not the fun alcoholics. For them, the recommendation is inverse.
Why doesn't he play Robin Williams' son in every movie? Or real life?

I became interested in Zach Galifianakis after watching the comedy interview with Hilary Clinton. I wanted to see what his actual personality is like....
mesondehimiko Listen to his interview with Pete Holmes on the You Made It Weird podcast. You'll get a way better idea of what he's actually like.
I don't think one thing Galifianakis said in this interview was the truth.
What the hell does Zach put in his hair?
his hands...
Jizz
yeah, that joke died a natural death. no inquest required.
