    Another "hidden feature" of this gen key fobs: Instead of using your finger nail to pry open the battery cover, insert the tip of the valet key into the little gap right beneath the batter cover where people usually put their finger nails in, the shape and size are designed to fit in the gap; and instead of pulling up or pushing with the valet key, keep the tip inserted firmly and turn it like you would with a normal key, Voilà, effortless and won't hurt your finger or finger nail.
    There are lots of these type of clever and logical designs by BMW throughout their vehicles, thus making BMW the single best car manufacturer!

    Ryan, my key fob looks slightly different. It has some buttons in the side as well, does yours have them? Maybe I’m just tired and seeing things….:LOL

      That’s interesting, no buttons on the side for mine. Just the M logo and that’s all.

      I have three side buttons, unlock, open rear hatch and panic alarm.

      You have an idrive 8 key fob, so the buttons are on the side
