Worked out for a while on and off..have a decent physique but promised myself this year I’d get in the best shape of my life..I’ve slacked off big time since early summer. I’m glad you posted this series I’m gonna follow it all the way through.
Mr. Grage, as a former action guy nearing the big 70, you simply couldn't have offered this program at a better time. I can't help but chuckle when you talk about the ego of youth and inevitable issues that causes when you get older. So damn true and I know it to be true the hard way. Aside from the routine, I really appreciate your humour and candor. Makes the "hurt" easier. In this greedy world of ours, it's truly special to come across someone doing something like to help others. Nice to see a person being true to themselves and not selling out. I agree with you, it all works out in the long run. I'm with you for the duration - see you on the other side. Off to the gym.
James, I’ve been using your bands and the TA2 programs for several years but my motivation has been lacking for the last few months. Having the opportunity to train with you is awesome and inspiring me to get back to work. The fact that you’re giving the program away for free is truly amazing! Thank you for sharing this with the world
@@tonyschuck8833 yes that’s the one big challenge with training at home. It’s a lot like working from home. Sometimes it’s nice to have a structured environment - to know when and where you need to be and what you need to get done. Glad to have you jump in on these workouts. 👊 Look forward to seeing you over the coming months
Hi James - I absolutely love your workout lessons and videos! What I love most is that its never overkill, and perfect for guys in their mid 50's to stick with. Thank you JG for always keeping it real and easy to understand.
@@matteb17 hey brother, I appreciate the positive feedback. Yeah unfortunately the fitness industry loves over complicating things, but the reality is we can get great results sticking to the 80/20 rule

Thank you so much for your passion and advice. I started following you thanks to the elastic bands that I promptly bought. Even though I live in Rome I got them directly from your site
Thank you James for posting this program ,16 weeks of this program , That is great. I’m supposed to have knee replacement surgery in two or three months so I’ll be able to incorporate part of this workout before I have surgery. Thank you again for posting this. I really appreciate it.
So this is a beginner program, starting from ground zero, working all the way to advanced. You can download the PDF of the full program in the link in the description.
James I’ve been rocking with you for a while. Thank you for these workouts. I have two partial rotator cuff tears in my mind this has derailed my workouts. Any advice for me to make some progress to build muscle?
I can relate. Those kind of injuries can definitely rob you of your enthusiasm for training. I had so many gym related pain/injuries through the years and then when I did the 4 1/2 years of bands only I felt great. Now that I’ve gone back to incorporating weights a lot of that has come back. With that said, I think bands at a minimum make for a great tool for specific body parts where you’re trying to train around an injury.
The next couple weeks of workouts are all things you can do at home. This week we’ll do bodyweight only movements for legs, then next week is bands, and after we’ll transition into dumbbells
Not a man...but going to follow along ANYWAY! Maybe Annik can make a guest appearance. Also, your phone can be trying to link to another bluetooth device or headphones if they are near by.
Oh good, there is another girl in here. I was hoping to find another one besides me. I loving that I found something that has slowed things down to help with the injuries because I keep going full out and can't wrap my mind around ...sloooowwwww down. 😂
Morning. So I had put together a PDF guide that's on the blog at JamesGrage.com (JG's corner) that you can download for free. In that are some suggestions for Sat.
Hmmm...did you abandon bands only? I'm wondering how you hurt yourself considering it's a bit difficult to do with bands. I'm also wondering if you've modified your stance on bands given that you are also using weights.
@@FM-gv7sb I started incorporated weights back in after about 4 1/2 years of bands only. The shoulder issue definitely manifested after bringing the weights back. My stance is pretty much unchanged. I believe that bands are a highly effective and versatile training tool that are both cost portable and cost-effective. I also think they reduce risk of injury compared to weights and they can help a person learn better form and mind muscle connection. With that said, lifting weights is still fun and also can be very effective. They have some similarities but at the end of the day are also very different.

You’re absolutely correct. I misspoke in the video. A push up on a bench is going to be more lower chest - and if we put our feet up on the bench and hands on the floor it would be more like an incline press for upper chest. That’s the downside of UNCUT workouts - you don’t get a chance to edit out your brain farts. LOL. Good catch though
@@josephcanaday I’d grab a set of bands. Those in combination with dumbbells will fix you a lot of variety. The 2nd phase of those workout plan start using bands and then phase 3 is bands + dumbbells
