I used to give a Mama raccoon treats in my back yard. One night she came up behind me while standing having a smoke and touched me so gently on the leg. Almost had a heart attack.
I know that feeling dude. I had a deer I fed apples to every day, and one night while out having a smoke, I heard a guttural grunt like no sound I've ever heard before, mixed with stomping. Figured out it was that deer, who I named Crook, demanding an apple. He started setting off our security lights after that, or when no one was outside to hear him, knowing someone would see them come on, and notice him.

Reminds me so much of my grandpa. He’d sit outside in the evening and feed his raccoons, and two skunks that lived under the wood pile. At night, I’d flip on the porch light for the surprise of what was on the steps eating what he’d left out there for late night snackers. Raccoons are everywhere in Toronto. My grandson also lives in a downtown hi-rise and he sees them all the time. IN Vaughan where we live, it like Aunt Sally's farm - wildlife everywhere. The raccoons have learned to open the latched trash bins so they must be kept in the garage. A couple of weeks ago we found one in the garage. Don't know how that happened.
I truly believe he is legitimately a good person. Living off a pension and using what little money he has to keep these guys healthy. I give all his videos a thumbs up even if I do not watch them lol

Not everybody has a pure heart these days. Foods scarce down here in the Florida Keys in the mangroves. But they look healthier when you give them water and a little food. But how many hotdogs can them suckers eat?
orrrrrr they no longer use that instinct as much and rely on him I mean I totally get his reasoning i'm not hating I've had a friendly fox at one time though I didn't feed her
I was thinking this is probably generations of mother and multiple litters of young. Years and years of hotdogs. Yes, the one on the rail is way too tame but could and would tear you up.

Awwhhhh.,... BLESS YOU! I feed about 20 or more wild/semi wild cats, and the occasional hedgehog AND a couple of homeless dogs... it sure adds up financially but it warms the heart to the core. THANK YOU for being like me!
Thank you soooo much, from the bottom of my heart for feeding these Lil guys. My fiance's grandfather, sets traps, (they own the Upstate, NY, Parker's Maple Syrup biz + 3/4 of the North Country in Maple Trees, lol) and he moves the animals away from the Maple areas, and there's a pack that come to feed on his porch. I wish I could be there that early in the am when they go over to eat. This yr, Momma had a litter of 5 and Daddy is still with them. I'm unsure if that's normal for raccoons but it's adorable to see the couple photos Gramps takes with his camera every few days. He's logging their growth😆 So many people treat these guys, oppossums, chipmunks, etc etc, as "rodents" and as an intuitive empath, it's gut wrenchi bf to gear some of the stuff these people do to "get rid of them". These people need to eat too, right? These people have a MEANS to feed themselves, right? So what makes THEM believe that they are above any animal, is beyond me. They were here first & in fact, THEY, are above humans. Like it or not, negative Nancy's, without these 'rodents' you'd be missing a part of YOUR food supply. So think about that the next time you go setting inhumane traps. It takes less effort to trap and release than it does to cruelly 'deal' with the animals that don't "benefit" your garden. These animals are hungry too. Woukd it be fair for the school, daycares, summer camps, etc etc, to NOT feed YOUR child/children when they are attending?! So what makes you any better/different?! I'll tell you. You have been 'programmed' to believe that YOU are superior to any + ALL lifeforms smaller than you. Everything is interconnected. INCLUDING, (but not limited to) you got it. Rodents. So the next time you waste time thinking of ways to 'eliminate' animals that don't benefit whatever you're trying to do, think again. You just want to live, eat and thrive, right?! The same applies with animals
This video is awesome in multiple aspects. The most obvious are the friendly raccoons. But what really reached out to me was the peaceful sound of the wind through the leaves and the wind chimes combined with the variegated green growth in the background, gently waving to the wind. Wow - such a peaceful environment. Good for you - God bless!
I love this man. I died twice and I can assure this man has a beautiful realm on the other side This is compassion. While others call pest control, this man extend his heart. Animals eating garbage in a world man owns is heartbreaking. Be like him, and your afterlife will be great. Go vegan, live compassion, feed the hungry, help those who need help animal or human

We all know she's just trying to survive, but maybe once she gets a sense of food security she'll relax a little. I know you'll get her nice and fat before winter. 😊 Thank you for everything you do for these and other great creatures James. ❤
You are AWESOME!!!sir, keep up the GREAT job
They do. My little one now comes up to my feet for bananas. She is smaller than the others so I give her special treatment.
Reminds me so much of my grandpa. He’d sit outside in the evening and feed his raccoons, and two skunks that lived under the wood pile. At night, I’d flip on the porch light for the surprise of what was on the steps eating what he’d left out there for late night snackers. My favorite was watching raccoons eating one strand of spaghetti at a time🤗🌸 thank you for sharing your vid!
I could watch this all day my man. You an I are kindred spirits.
I am so glad I found your channel! It's nice to know other people love nature as much as I do! I have been laid off for a few months now so I have been spending some time outdoors, seeing how many of my yard critters I can become friends with!!
Single handedly keeping Oscar Meyer afloat in troubled times.
But with all the different types of nasty evil sodiums they put in the processed meat, I'm surprised any of these raccoons are still alive. Sodium phosphates, sodium nitrates, sodium nitrites, sodium acid pyrophosphate.. no thanks. I would rather starve.
ShadowⓋ oh, so that is just water retention on the big ones.
What a kind and loving man. These videos are so comforting and soothing
"His ribs aren't showing any more." I can see why. Jim, you've got a great heart!
His heart is a hot dog.
The raccoon on the rail is the Human Whisperer.
He got that human well trained 🤣👍
Thank you so much for being so kind to the animals instead of screaming at them and swatting at them with a broom you're my hero!!
I'm going to dress up like a raccoon and go to
Mr. Jim's for dinner one night! 😆😆😆
Good Idea....lol
And hope for Twinkies! 😂
Can I join you Susie?

Jim you truly are a blessing to the raccoons and to your cats and most of all to us. I love how buddy comes up to get your attention. He is so sweet, he's going have alot of jealous raccoons after him! Bless you Jim💜🦝👮♂️
Word got out. Best meals, cheap prices at the " raccoon whisperer."
Clever😀
I saw their review on Yelp
Speaking from experience, I hope there won't be serious consequences for James if he decides one day to close the diner. Raccoons can be vicious if denied.
@@T-Jack
Yes he got great reviews.
and no masks required.
Amazing! God continued to bless this man! He is so kind, gentle, and caring! Love the videos!
1:36 the on bottom left in between he two in the front/ he stands up is so cute and respectful. Hes like waiting patiently in line and letting people go first, he even takes it nicely.
The grabby one will relax when he realizes there is plenty of food for him.
Bless you sir! I love watching your videos. I'm an avid animal lover too, and what you're doing is such a great thing for the wild life environment!
Just amazing to watch. The connection you have with these adorable animals is just priceless. Keep doing what your doing, the world needs more people like you.
James you are awesome! I love raccoons.. Had a pet one when I was younger on our farm. Thank you
@@erikarommel That is awesome, Mine was named "Wylie". It so funny he would wake me up every morning rubbing my face so he could go outside... He like to sneak down to the barn and get my dad.. lol!!
All they are getting is some dry food this stuff and sandwiches!!!!!!! This guy is a legend!
You know I live in a high-rise in Toronto and can't remember the last time I went up north or to a cottage but watching you guys is the next best thing. Thanks 😊
Do raccoons have thumbs? 👍👍
He has a beautiful home. He’s living good
Facts man
Sir, you are one of the people who make the world a better place. Thank you.
And ma’am, you are another one of the people who make the world a better place...by having a kind heart that notices his kind heart. ❤️
You in turn are also one of the people who make the world a better place. Bless you & thank you.
Miss A Peal 💕💕💕💕
My gosh these pics are amazing. So sweet. Little guy runs back on his stand lol He's got a routine. So sweet to see them like you so much. Glad that they got you to care for them . I got baby pool for water
My wife loves the wind chimes. Seriously, the birds, the chimes, the wind noise... very soothing.
Those chimes keep the raccoons somewhat at peace and a little distracted along with the food lol
This man is just.....gold, pure gold
I'm glad he found his happy place right in his own backyard!
This reminds of how my Mom would feed lettuce to Skunks by hand they never bothered her she was one gentle person she was a magnet to all animals.
I'm dying of laughter. He threw that hotdog at the raccoon that bit his hand.
An impolite racoon.
Where in the video?

You have 17 raccoons because they're giving you WONDERFUL Bed and Breakfast reviews on YELP. :) LOVE your ♥ James.
You are so right 😃
LOL
Oh dear thats so funny !!
How many hot dogs do they eat eat. I'm feeding some in the woods and they come up but I don't try to get that friendly with him I don't want to teach them to trust Youmans. Humans around here throw rocks at them beat them with sticks. You have arrested a couple kids here from going up and beaten the ones up behind Winn-Dixie, they arrested the kids. Not everybody has a pure heart these days. Foods scarce down here in the Florida Keys in the mangroves. But they look healthier when you give them water and a little food. But how many hotdogs can them suckers eat?
They look like they would win the Coney Island hot dog eating contest.
😂😂😂😂🙌🙌🙌
LOOKS LIKE THEY ALREADY HAVE......MANY TIMES! 😂
Buddy is just the best! Does his little walk to and fro on the fence!
My boss bottle feeds a squirrel. He and his family have him so spoiled. But it is so sweet to see them interact with this gentle sweet red squirrel
Enjoyed your story on your experience with raccoons, so sweet of you to do this for your late wife. Connor cat is adorable!
Theres just something calming about watching a man feed racoons
I'll bet he has no trouble with overturned garbage cans.
those are sophisticated raccoons
@@shkafishkafnjakboz4196 Those are upscale high society raccoons.
Or he has the worst problem in town lol
orrrrrr they no longer use that instinct as much and rely on him I mean I totally get his reasoning i'm not hating I've had a friendly fox at one time though I didn't feed her
@@shkafishkafnjakboz4196 Yes they most certainly are, and very polite too as they wait their turn.
The grabby one has had a tough
Life before he met you, he’ll come around in time 😁
The one on the railing is like a domestic. She even takes her time with one hotdog than fluff you up for another one lol
Her charisma is maxxed
I was thinking this is probably generations of mother and multiple litters of young. Years and years of hotdogs. Yes, the one on the rail is way too tame but could and would tear you up.
U sure it's a he?
🌈🤝
Legit love this. It’s nice to see some compassion towards some of the Earth’s other creatures, especially something like Raccoons, who get a bad rap.
This blokes the bomb. What a lovely fella. Why arent there more folk like this in the world. All we ever hear about are bad people. I like to think the 'quiet majority' are like him ❤
This guy is living the life.
Living the dream. Imagine waking up to the sounds of nature with a lifetime of memories only to walk outside and be met with mother nature's love. I'd die a happy man
Hello! Fellow Canadian here. I just discovered this channel and I'm so happy I did. Been loving every second!
I love what you do and am so amazed at how you bonded with these beautiful babies… we have 1 female named Roxie she is 1 1/2 yrs old. She was rescued from a Mom that was killed and had 3 other siblings all who died from organ failure. Roxy is the light of my husband and I’s life. She is amazing, strictly indoors as she is terrified to go outside although her family consists of 2 German shepherds both of which are her best friends ,1 lab and a pitbull. She uses her litterbox has a condo in our couch and sleeps with Me aka Mama at night. She cuddles and is so affectionate. Thank you for showing people the good side of Raccoons they are amazing creatures and definitely not a general Pet for most people. I love your videos!!! Roxy is picky she wont eat hotdogs!!!!
They're so cute. They really love the peanut butter sandwiches he makes for them
I'm curious about how much do you spend on food for them, do you take donations. Please let me know, thank you for sharing.👍🙏
was wondering the same thing
TH-cam helped him, dont worry
listen to the whole video he dont accept e-donation or transfers
"Not all raccoons wash their food." Now that's a sentence I never expected to hear.
In several languages, the native term for "raccoon" is “washing bear” or “wash-bear”, such as “tvättbjörn” in Swedish, “vaskebjørn” in Danish and Norwegian, “þvottabjörn” (thvottabjörn) in Icelandic, “tváttarbjørn” in Faroese, “pesukarhu” in Finnish, “pesukaru” in Estonian, „Waschbär“ in German and “wasbeer” in Dutch.
In French, the raccoon is called “raton laveur”. Raton means “ratling” (little rat, young rat) and laveur means “cleaner” (cleaning person).
In Latin, the raccoon is called “Procyōn lōtor”. Procyōn comes from Ancient Greek "Προκύων" (Prokúōn), which means “dog-like creature” (from πρό (pró) = “before” or “in place of”, and κύων (kúōn) = “dog”) in this case, and lōtor means “laundryman”.
@@JOHNLARZONI89 wow, that is super interesting! Thanks for taking the time!
@@Charliemmag in vietnamese we call it cat bear :D
Awwhhhh.,... BLESS YOU! I feed about 20 or more wild/semi wild cats, and the occasional hedgehog AND a couple of homeless dogs... it sure adds up financially but it warms the heart to the core. THANK YOU for being like me!
Perfect timing for some day light dining..! Always a pleasure to see you and your furry family...Greetings and well wishes to all from Arizona.
@marilyn roberts I hope you are nowhere near the wildfires!! Please be safe!
I really think little missy on top just wants kisses and loves. She really loves you😊
You have a heart of gold james
Such a pretty piece of property and those windchimes makes it heaven. I'd love to sit on that porch with Mr. Jim.. such a great man.
He's logging their growth😆
So many people treat these guys, oppossums, chipmunks, etc etc, as "rodents" and as an intuitive empath, it's gut wrenchi bf to gear some of the stuff these people do to "get rid of them".
The sweetest video I’ve yet discovered by this beautiful man. 🙏🏼💙
it warms my heart just seeing such a nice man feeding raccoons
James you are the best ! Hi from the Paul Siroky family (City of Tabor. Czech Republic. Europe.). Thank You sooooooooo much !!!!!!!!!🇺🇸😁
" Good Job" James. Very entertaining video. The simplest acts of kindness.. bring us the "Best" joys in life.
At 50 seconds in -- "What a pig!" cracked me up!
That’s wonderful, you’re brilliant thank you, so are your furry friends. Bless you
I have two or three raccoons, that come in my yard. They steal the cat food. They don't bother the cat's. They love cat food.
How could anyone even dislike a video as wholesome as this.
I love this! My momma used to feed raccoons every day. They would scratch at her screen door if she hadn’t fed them by dusk. ❤️
You had seventeen because they're referring friends now...lol!
No thanks I'll always eat meat w/a side of green beans to boot and still feed my raccoons.
Adorable how that one kept licking your ear.
I love the one that "lubricates" the hot dog in the water bucket is hilarious
She’s washing it. Very common for raccoons to wash their food
I was hoping someone else saw her dunk it in there
She must be the eldest of the females..her gums must have gotten more tender and she washes to make the food more softer to chew..Oh..now she's running off to go use the restroom..ooohhh..gotta go, gotta go!!
The raccoons where I used to live would put the BREAD in the water before eating it 😆
