- Here is the fabulous Myrna Loy in "Love Me Tonight" (1932). This is a pre-code movie that has Myrna Loy saying some things that she wouldn't be able to say in a couple more year once the Hays Code becomes enforced in 1934.
Before this film she was usually cast as the exotic woman. This is one of the few roles that she did during the Pre-code era that was more like the future roles she would be playing.
I love these scenes because she is very feisty and has some great "zingers." There are a couple of other scenes that she is in but she doesn't say anything of any consequence. These are the best ones.
This movie is 88 years old. What a remarkably modern and beautiful woman she was!
Her Dad was 1 of millions killed by Spanish influenza, he was Montana's youngest elected official, so not only did Myrna have to be man of the house, strong, smart independent & go to work young, lifelong interest in politics & her mother instilled her interest in the arts & dance classes from early age.
I wish there were 100 pre-code Myrna Loy films.
Since Thin Man was her 80th film, there almost are.
