    Inspired to try one of these builds. The scale side of rc crawling is calling to me. Thanks for sharing.

      +Mike Diffenderffer Thanks for watching! I am still having mixed feelings about it. Its going to be tricky to mod.

    That's awesome man looking forward to this build!! I'm a jeep man myself,,, owned a few YJs in the past !! I love a jeep 👍👍I have a 2015Jk now!! That I'm going try make an RC look like my 1/1 jeep!! But would love get TF2 SW !! Like have the beast as well tho got to pic and choose on my budget!! But man love your builds,, we seem have same interest in Rc world haha!! I agree Rc4wd makes the scale rides I like! Also love your tool box looks like my real one at the shop!!

    • @RCeveryday

      +EVIN TACY Man I use to love jeeps but my first one was a 2011 JKu and it was a piece. bone stock with death wobble, wiring issues(my harness melted under the fuse block) and loose headlights. I keep adding stickers to my scale toolbox to look like my real ones (not snap on though:/) This is a neat little chassis but its not going to be a performer. That beast 2 is well, a beast. I just dont like that it is 1/14. I would get one and make a 6x6 defender. Call it the D180 lol. Thanks for watching sir!

    Hey bud. you have probably figured this out by now but the catching you are experiencing is that the srew that is closest to the drivelines that mounts the transfer case is called out to be an 8mm screw. It is too long. I noticed the catching and replaced that one with a 6mm screw and now it is smooth as butter. Hope this helps.

    Looks good so far. I'm building a yj also. I bought the RCMODELex yj frame for that vary problem of the tf2 swb frame not working well with better shocks,bumpers or ease of mounting the body. The RCMODELex frame also comes in steal with steal front and rear bumpers with rear spare mount. I'm going to put rc4wd k44 axles under it. keep up the good work, love your vids!

    • @RCeveryday
      @RCeveryday  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Collin Patterson Ive been real interested in RCmodelex lately. Maybe if I win the powerball lol. I just like this chassis because its true to scale leaf sprung. I had made a shortened bruiser chassis for a YJ many years ago and have missed it. Thanks for watching!

    • @collinpatterson2164
      @collinpatterson2164 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Josh Dutton (RC Everyday) Yea I hear you on the scale. I like the RCmodelex stuff and it can be expensive, but well worth the money. As for the leaf springs I also love leafed trucks. my tf2 is still leafed with a RCmodelex front bumper. The yj im building will be leafed. I forgot to mention that. It will require some fabrication, but i'm ok with that to get a scale looking yj on leafs.

    • @RCeveryday
      @RCeveryday  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Collin Patterson Awesome! Ive been tempted to get that modelex hilux bumper. Looks so good.

    • @collinpatterson2164
      @collinpatterson2164 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Josh Dutton (RC Everyday) It's vary nice sorta heavy but well made. Only thing is you have to make a custom mount for it and drill it out for what winch you want but it looks awesome on my tf2.

    • @RCeveryday
      @RCeveryday  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Collin Patterson Thats why I was always hesitant to get one. Didnt know how much work it was to mount.

      I still have this chassis, just has an isuzu amigo body on it now. Its no the best rock crawler but makes a great trail truck. Ive been wanting to build another with the YJ body.

    i‘m thinking to buy this chassis. i want to rebuild my landcruiser hzj 71. i need to order the body 3d printed. i hope the axles aren‘t too wide. i want the car to be as realisticly close to my real car. maybe i can narrow the stance with the right offset wheels.

    How did that transfer case binding up work out for you? I just bought my first Kit a Gelande 2 , d-90 and when I hook up the coupler from the transmission to the transfer case the transfer case bonds up a bit and turns rough when I try to roll the truck back and forth by hand. I was sent a new transfer case from RC4WD but same problem , is this normal?
    Thanks really like your channel

    • @RCeveryday
      @RCeveryday  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That isnt normal at all. Only thing I can think of causing it to turn rough would be bad pinion angles. If the driveshafts coming out of the transfer case are too steep an angle going to the axles it can cause binding. But on a stock kit truck it really shouldnt. Also check the shaft from the trans to the transfer case, if it is the slightest bit crooked it might cause binding as well. (I have had that happen before) Just loosen the bolts on the trans and transfer case and then tighten the shaft before tightening everything back up. Hope that helps buddy.

    Cool.....! I say for the color a gunmetal grey with a tan top and tan interior. Mmmm yeah! Can't wait to see more man. I like that size tires and, i agree with ya 1.55 all the way not a 1.9 jeep.

    • @RCeveryday
      @RCeveryday  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Barry Runion Im considering cutting the top off. But definitely 1.55s on it. Still havent picked a direction for this build.

    • @RCeveryday
      @RCeveryday  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Race730 I put my GCM 1.7s on it and still think they look a little big. I just need to find a way to change the offset on my 1.55s

    Yeah ..same here, something about the square headlights maybe.. dono but I love these yj's myself. I have a 4 door already built but Im nozeing around looking for a scale short wheelbase chassis for this same Tamiya cc01. And although rc4wd stuff is nice, I think its a bit overpriced for what you get. I think now in 2020 its at 389$?. Still overpriced for no body or nothing else LOL.

    Josh you was talking about paint color.... did you know that you could get any exact factory paint color put in a aerosol can. Auto Value is the store that can do that.. Kinda pricey but worth it if you want that scale look. Auto Value is nation wide so there should be one where you live..

    • @RCeveryday
      @RCeveryday  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Nick Walter I had seen a place do that on mighty car mods in Australia but never here. Just looked them up, there are several but they are all an hour and a half south of me. May have to check it out. Ive been google searching YJ just looking for a color that jumps out. Thanks for the info!

    get rid of them ugly side steps tamiya molded into the body an for tires (using my Darth Vader voice) come to the dark side my son...MICKEY THOMPSON 1.7 BAJA CLAW TTC RADIAL SCALE TIRES. I believe that would be the perfect size your looking for an it's a radial so it will give it that street/trail look your going for.

    • @MrTurboShadow
      @MrTurboShadow 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Josh Dutton (RC Everyday) I don't think your going to have to worry about flex with this truck lol, get to hacking up the body!!! (crazy man eye's). oh an the parts that hold the leaf springs on the axles are to help it from snapping springs

    • @RCeveryday
      @RCeveryday  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +MrTurboShadow I guess I am not hard enough on my rigs. I have never snapped a leaf spring. lol
