Hey there. Good to see you again. I love the color of your background wall. Soothing to me like your voice, maybe one of my favorite reasons I listen to your podcasts. Thanks again.
Enthralling…captivating…riveting! I enjoyed this interview so very much. I started out thinking I could listen while doing other things, but quickly realized that no…I actually needed to focus and pay attention to every word or I’d miss something valuable. The photographs are truly stunning…absolutely achieved the goal of providing an experience. I’d love for the two of you to do a part 2. Meanwhile, I received lots of food for contemplation vis a vis my art practice. Many thanks Nick and David. 🙏🫶
Excellent. And thank you David for an insightful interview. This made me go back to look at some thoughts I put down on paper back in February, "Art is... an experience, both for the artist and the recipient." As I read the rest of my first draft again, I see it certainly has room for improvement but I'm glad I got my thoughts down. Thank you for drawing the parallel between this exploration and refinement process in writing and other art forms. Certainly it's something many of us are aware of but sometimes hearing it in a different way drives the point home so well.
Art is the only step on the ladder of life that will not creak. Creative self expression is a key to magical liberation. How the piece turns out is not to me as important as what you discover in the process of the creation.
Beautifully put Robin. Thank you for sharing that. I've read it several times. My very best wishes to you for your happy creative life. From an aging painter in Scotland.
@@davidsillars3181 you don’t really age, you just add more patina of wisdom! So glad to hear from another artist ! What type of painting do you resonate with?
@@robinbrewer9000 Hi Robin. Although I trained in conventional drawing and painting, I love abstraction and that's what I mostly make, loose landscape references. What about you?
@@davidsillars3181 I am a curios explorer..what if??!! Would like to exchange photos of our art ? I am also a jewelry designer and fiber artist. Long long ago, my family came from Fofar (?) Scotland..I like abstracts

Note: David had his ‘foot’ amputated. He clearly says it was his leg in this interview.
