    Crazy how they had 2 completely different mindsets going into the fight. Jon was terrified and having nightmares about losing, meanwhile Rampage had 1 of the best camps of his life and confidence through the roof.

      Daniel Cormier said the same thing about one of his fights with Jones, can't recall which. But he said he was at the best he's ever been, couldn't have been more prepared, and still lost.

JJ is actually a natural heavy weight and his last opponent is no where near goat status so for him to be the goat he needs to beat Stipe being clean. No matter what his career will be questioned like Barry Bonds but I say if he can defend HW champ as many times as Stipe being clean he becomes without a doubt the goat.

    It's crazy Jon Jones was new technology and rampage was basically a dinosaur. Jones was the advancement of MMA and rampage was the old guard. Love them both but Jon showed that there was no more " we are going to stand in the middle of ring and bang it out". Jones bought the wave of technique into MMA. Showed you didn't need to knock people out to be feared. Everything advances.

    If I remember correctly, Jon had a very tough time taking down Rampage in that fight. Rampage’s wrestling was on point that night. Unfortunately, the fight IQ was not there for him.

    Met him at comic con. I remember being in awe of how big he was. His forearms where hugs his wrists were huge but this dudes hands were like 50 lbs kettlebells attacked to his arms

    Chael sonnen said both fighters go in there and they know who’s going to win but sometimes you can surprise yourself and that’s what happened with jones and rampage especially after jones saying he was scared and had nightmares of rampage
