The youth needs to hear this! Hollywood movies have blurred reality. Real love comes from work, compromise and friendship. Allah reward you all for this important discussion.
I needed this advice 3 years ago allahu'alm. Alhmdulilah we ended up uploading some of your videos when you guys requested us. Hope you are keeping well inshallah?
I'm not a Muslim, but many of the points brought up are extremely thought provoking... especially thinking about the difference between love and infatuation and trying to see into the future.
Thank you for this amazing video. honestly you guys have made me return to Islam :Omar Suleiman, nouman Ali khan, saeed, mufti menk, yasmin mogahed.I can only relate to this guys.. am so grateful to you all. before I felt Islam was for old people
I agree with the list u mentioned But yasmmen mogahed smiles and shows her teeth too much I think in Islam it's not appropriate for a woman to be this much giggly I just watched one of her videos and I was done I prefer sheikhs more They are very good u just mentioned
MashaAllah! I didn't think I would watch this video all the way..sweet topic. Main lessons: Love Allah ta'ala more than anything and anyone else and you will not have your heart broken. Perfect love is only in paradise, love in tis dunya takes work. Finally, make sure you get some premarrital counseling, know the fiqh of marriage and divorce before getting married. One last thing: Be prepared to accepting your other half's imperfections, and yeah, chances are, he/she might not change.
Saad tasleem. I'm learning so much so much from your lectures. You're so soft spoken and gentle. It's making me learn more and more about the religion. I hope one day I get to meet you in real life. Thank you for bringing me closer to Allah. I'll be indebted to you all my life. Prayers and blessings for you
I totally love this video so much. there is so much truth in it. Such speeches should be shown to all young people. Muslims and non-Muslims alike. Unfortunately in my Western culture people seem to believe in fairytales when it comes to love and marriage. They say God and Religion are fairytales. I'm not sure if I believe in God, but very wise things are said here. I prefer to believe wisdom that can bring a wholesome life than in such thing as infatuation. Above all I often feel frustrated because people seem to confuse infatuation with love. But I also wholeheartedly believe in the other points the shayk touches.
Somehow this lecture seems like a group of rockstars giving press conference bout their new album, which is nice. lol Anyway, the lecture is great, but quoting some more Ayaah and Hadits would be greater. Keep up the good work fellas!!
i love the idea of a soulmate. i know!! im unrealistic but the idea of someone being perfect for you! and loving you unconditionally even when they are mad at you sounds pretty darn amazing!!
Ahmed Nuur it's okay ahmed!! we'll be alone together!! lol there's always that option of marrying your cousin who is still in somalia (lmfaooo assuming you're somali too)
Love this video! As a young adult trying to navigate both deen and dunya, it helps a lot to have someone who can explain things in a relatable and logical manner and genuinely wants the best for us all. Thank you so much!
I thought if i get married my imaan will improve and my life also ... this lecture confused me a little bit .. but the point with self worth is really beneficial and critical.. Anyway Jazaka Allahu khira sir you helped us to rethink again about our conceps in love.
This was such an eye opener subhana’Allah. I’m glad Ustadh Saad Tasleem went over his time frame because he mentioned so many valid points in a clear and reasonable manner. Also what a panel of people! I know this is old but these guest speakers all at once are a dream. Still an excellent yalks May Allah guide us all in our marriages with ease and barakah
I'm still halfway through this and want to make a quick comment, I'm in the part where you said about 'seeking perfection'. With me, I'm 'seeking affection' lol. I really really want to be loved by someone and I don't care about the physical appearance at all. I care about the person's personality more than anything.
I have experienced love and hardships, though sheikh saad dont believe about soulmate but they are exist, soulmate is people that you can agree with (vice versa) effortlessly... I have experienced how hard to deal with this and that persons even if you try to tolerate, lower your standard etc etc it just getting harder and harder, but soulmate just understand your perception right away, ease your soul and put you right where you want it, soulmate can be friends, spouse or neighbors, it doesnt necessarily in a romantic situation... Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and his beautiful wonderful realtionship with his wife khadija and some of his best friends, may ALLAH bless them all, is telling it all...
these speeches are very helpfull specially for you g people myself years ago i was in misconception of love i had relationship with a girl from other religion and shukran that allah subhana wa taàla showed me the path of truth.
#8 Is still occurring, I should know being 20 something myself, the rushing of young folks to get married, at least where I am and the stress. Even after the video, I still feel a tad bit off only confirming I still shouldn't try getting married until I understand completely and ACCEPT the concept of what love is really supposed to be, rights and roles, which I keep arguing about because for someone who doesn't come from an Islamic upbringing or have had to be independent for too long doing everything yourself.. The saying 'marriage is half our deen', is quite contrary to what Saad Tasleem said about those who think it would complete their selves by getting married despite all their issues, flaws etc. 'True Love'? No one knows, if you really want to be with someone, whatever the relation, whatever the reason and its halal, its always going to take a lot of effort from both sides, end of story.
Though I agree with most of what the brother said ,Alhumdillah. One issue is that the Prophet of Islam ( SAW ) said that 50% of your Deen is found in your spouse. With the mindset being many social ill’s come out of immoral behavior surrounding illicit behavior outside the marital decree , Allahu-Alim.
As two people grow together is when they find themselve loving one another and no we can not change anyone but ourselves no one can complete loving some one take work it not like a love story on tv or a movies people are paid to play in love stories love is not uncondition it not clingy it don t come with having a low self esteem other people can t fix us it not easy for us loving us let alone loving another person
Thank you very much Sheikh Saad for your Good deeds that you help couples even to the young people to distinguish between what's love or not so Jazka allah khayra
I spitted my coffee when he said 'he doesnt know what I'm thinking' Hahaha I used to think like that when I was 20. 10 years later, still nobody can read my mind...Where are the mindreaders!? ^^
i got a question, that in case of my mother.. she married and her whole life got destroyed but still here we are still a family, the scary thing in a marriage is what if that so called spouse soulmate or whatever becomes our test for life or even worse what if they turn out to be the absolute nightmare like my father did, he litreally ruined all of us? i can't imagine being in my mother's position you keep living everyday in hell and you call that a marriage and mind you some of us don't have a choice once we get married it's over no one's going to accept a girl back, i swear I'm scared of marriage plz pray for the best for me.. i got my own issues and I can't handle another one my point is can your so called spouse come in life as a TEST by Allah?
lol.....so true! mashaAllah i really enjoy seeing shuyuuk be human and help others to realize this point. i just wonder who "The Boss" is because its really funny how he dealt with the improper phone call:)
Ladies, youre looking for your idea of saad tasleem, dont you know how he makes his wife cry every night? (Not really, im referncing this exact point in the lecture)
"in love with your perception of the person than the actual person" wow. so much truth in a video
sanjeeda uddin never saw it from that perspective
The youth needs to hear this! Hollywood movies have blurred reality. Real love comes from work, compromise and friendship. Allah reward you all for this important discussion.
Inshallah I will get this.

Lol Sheikh Omar Suleiman said "my wife is here dude" after Saad mentioned him in the example of a good looking scholar, that was soo funny
I'm not a Muslim, but many of the points brought up are extremely thought provoking... especially thinking about the difference between love and infatuation and trying to see into the future.
its reality. The whole point is basically not except things that are less likely to be the case in reality.
This changes the view of many young teens. Thank you Subhanallah.

Haha i know What you mean :-)
Men should read surah an Nisa that surah provides a very good explanation about marriage and divorce and women's rights over the husband.
Not only Physical Handsome, but handsome on deen. Mashallah❤
It is best to be married rather than in to sin
