For me, the power of this video is the fact that there is a nice interaction between the singer and the audience. You can hear enough of her as well imo.
Seeing such pure, undistilled awesome makes me both squee with joy and cower in fear. Why, you ask? I, as an aspiring ... artist, author, whatever it is I am supposed to be, HOW can i measure to THIS? How can i bring more WIN and AWESOME in the world, when there are so many that do it so well, in so many ways? I fear i will simply bring the world a shipment of FAIL, no matter what issue i would address, no matter what i'd write about. I am humbled when i hear such awesome, talented people.
Yea I can understand. Jocos fans are used to singing along with him at his shows. Combine that with this being a very popular song from a very popular game meant that hearing this clearly is a doomed wish. It would be great if they got together again and did a studio version.
Totally agreed, the best parts of every concert I've been to have been the bits when absolutely everyone's singing along. There's a band called Shihad that's pretty big over here, the lead singer always wants the crowd to drown him out. It's music bringing people together, the sense of kinship is great.
@quillsinister I second everything you said. Specially the part about "my favorite redheaded geek GODESS. Gotta LOVE Felicia Day! And while on the subject, I liked the description "Writer/Actress/Cute-As-A-Button" =D Yeah, I just freaking love Felicia Day! =p
Its funny and amazing how this game also spawned one of the most amazing characters and songs ever created lol.. GLaDOS and Still alive.. this song is huge !!!
i am so depressed! i was there! at pax! that day! AND I COULDN'T GO TO THIS! damn the busses! i had to leave pax at 10 so i could get home before my bus stopped running! if i'd have known that this was going to happen, i'd have stayed and slept in an alley downtown afterward! i think i'm gonna go cry now. ...*sigh*... ~
@AnimeAdictProduction When i think of the so many people, that have written so much, and habe brought so much wisdom(AND WIN) to the world, all i want to do is curl up in a corner and cry at the failure i will be, at how i will not be worthy of following in the footsteps of such great people. These people, who are supposed to inspire us all, just discourage me, because i know i will never be up to par. Congratz, internet. Gratz, humanity. You've beaten me. I give up.
@chaosbuck You cannot have TOO MUCH EPIC with these two. One of them has performed songs about mad scientists, creepy dolls, etc. with everyone from Neil Gaiman to a small army of ukulele players. The other once was in a musical about a supervillain, with NPH and Malcolm Reynolds, made by Joss Whedon because he was bored by the writer's strike. These people bring in awesome and concentrate it into an even more powerful form.
@supermysticsonic2 Yes she did, they harmonized. She sang melody and he sang harmony. It's just harder to hear him because he is doing 'backup' vocals, and the crowd is drowning him. If I were him, I'd be honored by how loudly and strongly my crowd knew my song, even if I got drowned.

The world is ours now.
Welcome to PAX. We sing along. :3
Okay... now this is awesome.
Look at him just laughing about everyone knowing the song. This is awesome.

Very difficult not to smile at this.

Gabe and Tycho are still the heart of this! even though they have been sorta pushed outta the limelight =[
she's soooooo cute!!
The whole crowed knows the whole song by heart.

@mountainfire552 I think he means Portal since it was the first game which featured the song ^^
DAMN RIGHT! you just have to know where it is ; )
@supermysticsonic2 Yes she did, they harmonized. She sang melody and he sang harmony. It's just harder to hear him because he is doing 'backup' vocals, and the crowd is drowning him.

omfg....I wish I was there :(
Thank you to the gaming community of the world for making my life so brilliant
"Perhaps you know this one"
*Miliseconds into Still Alive*
YYYYYYEEEEAAAAHHH!!!!!!!
This exact same thing that happened to me at Björk. I think I heard her 30% of the time, when people didn't know the lyrics to her songs.
@DashCat9 I really didnt think many people played portal, let alone listened and memorised the song :P
