Gotokuji is a Buddhist temple within a few stops to the west from Shibuya well-known for maneki neko figures used as wish plates. The area is also full of small restaurants and shops. In the end I've visited a soba shop for their green tea buckwheat noodles with tempura.

That's what I need. Walk these small inner streets alone, no talking, no noise, just going ahead and thinking about anything, daily routine. Yes.
Totally agree. You described it perfectly.🦘🦘
+1 me also like less noise n without naratives
Rambalac is the best for that kid of videos!
Yep.
Happy 2023🎉 Although I live in Japan, your videos make me want to move here😁 Love your video quality and content!! Aloha from Yokohama🤙
Love this comment, “although I live in Japan, your video makes me want to move here”👍👍👍
I like that you added something new, Soba Eating ASMR! Including background plates stacking sound from kitchen, news broadcasting sound from TV, sauce pouring sound, soba dipping sound, soba entering mouth sound, soba chewing sound, crunchy tempura sound, surprising second hidden soba, tea drinking, menu showing, lastly "gochisousama~" voice and looking up to restaurant's ceiling, how enjoyable~ 😌
You must like sounds and like soba, right? ;)
No matter how many of these I watch, I'm always blown away at how clean all the streets are in Japan. So awesome to see everyone having pride in their country.
This is what a walkable city looks like. I stayed in an area similar to this when I visited Tokyo (Ohanajaya in Katsushika). It was amazing not having to drive everywhere. It can really take a lot of stress out of your life.
He manages to take a handful of the intimately mundane and hold it up in-front of the camera. He has a recurring gift for this. I hope my experiences of my time in Japan have moments of his Japan. And I hope this year is an incredible year for Rambalac.
I love these quieter backstreets videos. I love seeing all the shows down narrow streets and feel a sense of discovery around every corner. The meal portion at the end was also a nice change. Not sure why but I liked it.
loved that ending feast 🤤
Love, love, love these videos you make of these inner road communities. I've never been to Japan, and probably never will, so these videos are used to show me what I am missing. Great job!
16:46 Beautiful bell ringing.
6:44 Guy is smiling because he knows he will be in Rambalac's video. ✌
Rambalac I'm your biggest fan! Great to see you again around the streets of Tokyo
Gotokuji temple is a magical place - I believe all the white maneki-neko 😽really bring luck🍀, or at least hope 💖...! Oh, and in the end
''the art of eating'' - a concert for 2 hands and 2 chop-sticks 🥢👌👍! Wish I could taste it all 🤤😋!
I went to Japan back in 2018 for 2 weeks and I really feel like i didnt make good use of my visit - spent a lot of time in my hotel room. These videos make me feel like i corrected my mistake. thank you
Love your content❤ hi from germany✋🏼
Agreed. And Hi from Australia 🦘🦘🦘🐨🐨
That's right! After a hike, a delicious dinner is just what you need 🙂
When I read the video title and saw the maneki neko in the thumb nail, I was like: "OMG, is he really going to Gotokuji temple?!?!" 😍 And you were indeed, Rambalac! I love this place so much. It was my favourite place when I was the first time in Japan in summer 2018. Definitely 'll go there again next time! 😻
RambalaC happy new year! TC 😊😊😊thanks for sharing your video. So real like I was walking for real. Nice work camera.
I wish we had beautiful clean roads like this ,I would have walked all day.
this video gives me peace of mind.
OMG... this is literally where i walked when i was there, the beef shop, the bakery, the supermarkets, the place that i sat down, the train crossing... good memories 🥰

I watched an old Godzilla movie last night, and these streets and shops haven't changed much since Kaiju days!
It was "King Ghidoorah" 1965
Your videos are amazing and relaxing!! Greetings from Los Angeles ❤
Enjoyable video ,loved the 'extra' at the end in the restaurant....thank you !
i loved the ending, do these special endings more often, like with the drone and the eating, maybe even ending in a ryokan or going to a building rooftop and getting a cool view of the area
and the quiet, average neighborhood side streets are the best, id love to see a walk in such neighborhood during the early morning with a clear blue sky, where people are going out to work and shops are just opening up
Due to my busy daily life, I can't go to nearby Japan. But thanks to you, I can feel the feeling of traveling indirectly, so thank you very much.
Beautiful! I love Tokyo
I love the backstreet walks. The restaurant was so nice, with the perfect environment. The soba looked tasty AF too. Tempura looked good too, I'm not a big fan of seafood, but this, I'd eat.
50:00 - Your lucky plate set looked great. That last piece of shrimp especially
Happy New Year 2023 🎉🪅🎊
Great walk as always. I love watching these kinds of backstreet walks at night. No unnecessary noise in the streets, great for walking and relaxing. Also, love that Jeep that passes by at 24:20, no wonder American cars are rare in Japan, they are huge compared to Japanese cars. Keep it up ~ 03-09
You re doing immense work and giving us immense good vibes @Rambalac by filming your walks - this one is so good :)
Premiere regular upload 🥰🤩
This time you didnt just show the restaurants from outsid as once I suggested you vause there are many cozy restaurants but you even went inside one and ate there!! simply amazin thanks a lot!! ^^
I enjoy your video,
Thank you.
Thanks for the video! I went here early in the morning to see the temple, had the whole place to myself which made it even more peaceful and beautiful. I'm hoping to get back to Japan in early 2024.
One of the best yet! I love soba!
The bells were great
I wish Rambalac and everybody a year as peaceful as this meal!
Thank you
I love your walk videos...and this one was special with the food at the end!!! Thanks!! I miss and love Japan!! Regards from Montreal, JM
I had no idea Tokyo have another tram line other than Sakura Tram. I rode it back in 2016. I'll be visiting again soon and i will for sure ride this tram line!
Very nice walk! And cats!
This one is going to the favorite list! The thing that makes me love your channel is the fact that is very personal, and this video was even more, the end is just perfect!
Super in favor of you doing more stuff that you just wanna do, the experience of quiet watching is very relaxing, on another note, the beginning of the video gave me anxiety because the fast walking pace, i do no if the temple was going to close and you want it to get inside, but still this is not a complain!
Anxiety? Wtf is wrong with you? What a socially inept pussy lol
👍👍👍
Vielen Dank für deine Streams
Happy New Year
3:05 For Rambalac, the next best thing to finding a cat is seeing a train (or light rail in this case).
So true 🙂
Lucky kitty!! 🤩
It's a really nice neighbourhood. I lived there for a year or so - imo very authentic part of Tokyo. There's also a really good Izakaya called "soranaka" I highly recommend it :)
Buen día amigo Rambalac 🙏🇲🇽✌️
Here's to another successful year! 🍻 Wishing you the best!
🥰🥰
Did someone say Cats?
❤
I like this, eating eat the end
just perfect walk Now if only I could remember the way back🤣 I would do it, I know the cat shrine but.....🤔🤞
Hey! I just left Tokyo yesterday and was also hanging around in Akihabara. If you are still in Tokyo, I NEED to tell you about an incredible pop-up event that you MUST see before it's gone on the 23rd. It's in Ginza, and it's the "Animage and Studio Ghibli Exhibition." The exhibition is held on the 8th floor in the event space of Matsuya Ginza, which is only a 4-minute walk from Ginza Station. You cannot afford to miss this, it was remarkable.
Is video filming allowed?
No video recording. Photo taking allowed in some limited areas.
Hola. Tu no eres japones ??. Felicitaciones. Suscripto
Cool
As we all know Gotokuji is famous for having over 1,000 lucky cat figurines on its temple grounds. The lucky cats, called Maneki-Neko in Japanese, symbolize the temple. The temple was founded in 1633 and is said to be built in honor of a white cat that saved feudal lord Ii Naotaka from a terrible storm.
That meal at the end there looked pretty delicious. I thought it already looked like a good size amount of food, and then you flipped the container the noodles were on to reveal MORE noodles!
What was that sauce that you dipped the noodles and tempura shrimp into?
It might be grated daikon radish, green onion (Japanese leeks)pieces, and wasabi (horseradish).
Oops...sorry, this is revision. It's a soy sauce based sauce.
HELLO FROM MONTERREY MEXICO
Please show more shop windows, I love window shopping.
Just the windows? You like to buy windows?
Linux
About the footsteps noise. Just turn the sound right down. It's a wonderful video and it would be a shame to miss it.
That meal looked tasty. I had to go back for more. Lol. What were the green noodles made of? Wakame? Every walk should end with a meal.
Green tea
🤘🤗🤘
49:08 Buon appetito ☕🍜
The sound of your shoes: boots? Made more audible my your fantastic microphone
His sexy heavy breathing too.
1:42 Was not expecting to suddenly spot Swedish writing and our flag in one of your videos. This place any good? I'm assuming it's a cafe or bakery that is shamelessly using a logo imitating Pippi Longstocking? 😂
It is a shop that sells Scandinavian baked confectioneries centered on Sweden. FIKAFABRIKEN, 1-22-3 Gotokuji, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo
@@martianguy3275 Cool, thanks a lot!
Hi! I really like your videos, but could you record the video with normal human FOV (about 50-70 degree). That would really helpful and add the immersive. Thank you!
Human FoV is more than 210 degrees. 50-60 is only for very sick or old people.
I feel like m playing lost judgement 2
@11:38 Rambalac sets a new record for number of cats in his video! #LoveNeko
Yummy!!
Meow ! 😸
uaauu! Chevrolet Vectra 09:20

Can you go into grocery stores someday ?
Not with his camera rig. You generally can not film in stores, some youtubers do with smaller "hidden" cameras or smartphones but he can not hide his massive rig.
OMG voice command vending machines, I'm really threading behind times 😆
Yeah, but people who are mute or have speech impediment (like stuttering) are excluded from using these machines. Unless they have trained parrots to order for them, they'll have to use their fingers, like second class citizens.
