  • This is from March 2020 at the beginning of spring. It is of our native plant garden on a cheery spring day. It coincided with the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic but was far more pleasing that the constant drumbeat of negative news about Covid-19.
What we needed was the sunlight and natural beauty of our gardens and nearby parks..They always offer us solace and a respite from everyday stresses. All this natural beauty and sunlight are good for our spirits and our souls.
Native plants seen include: barrel cactus, blue-eyed grass, California coast sunflower, California poppies, California mountain lilac, ceanothus Ray Hartman, Cleveland sage, Cleveland sage Aromas, desert globemallow, lavender, Marina strawberry tree, milkweed, and succulents.
Pollinators & critters seen include butterflies -- Cloudless Sulphur, Monarch, Mournful Duskywing, and Painted Lady -- plus honeybees and western fence lizard.
