The first time I heard the Fresh Fruit version I actually did a double take. I was listening with my friend, who also wasn't familiar with that specific version, and we were both like "wait a minute, did... Did Jello just say what I think he said?" and, yeah, he did.
For anyone curious about the introduction of this song via the guitar solo, this is a Wavegroup (the band that made most guitar hero 1 and 2 songs before they had more money to purchase the rights) remix of the studio version. The Studio version contains that gruesome, but badass solo at the beginning. Other differences include a slightly faster tempo, less emphasis on drum patterns at the end, as well as that more distorted two note hammer while just screaming Pol Pot’s name. If you are morbidly curious, this studio version does also have the word that replaces *brother* in the song, but WaveGroup did not use it for both explicit language and the complexity of the word, which lead singer Jello will currently live perform the word “brothers.” Even still, many who gave the approving of the word still being in releases note the lack of use of oppression, but to actively crap on the oppressors. In other words, Jello just speaks the thought of people who act like they loved those folks they passively campaigned for in the civil rights while in college, but decides to speak what most of those fragile boomers really think. My opinion? It rocks like f*cking hell in this studio version. Literally crapping on the pseudo-progressive boomers who did a bunch of crap for themselves, then turned around and became both the system that oppressed the poor while they kiss their asses up to people who could care less about them. How fitting that so many idiots today will compare policies they don’t like to the Khmer Rouge when they were high as a kite and spitting on soldiers instead of blaming the government. It kinda makes you wish the Studio was the main, give it a listen on Spotify. It’s absolutely insane, but in the best way ever.

However, the version that you refer to as the 1987 version was actually released as a single a few months before the album was released, and probably was recorded slightly before the better version. The single version appears on the compilation album Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death (1987) which is probably where you got mixed up with the year. So, even if the worse version is played more, it is at least technically the “original” version. Just doing my part to spread musical knowledge! ✌🏻

If you have some good strategies you can beat Holiday in Cambodia, Knights of Cydonia and One, but it will cost a lot of trials and errors, lol I remember playing this game back in 2008-2010 near ending of my adolescence on Playstation 2 Dualshock Controller and beating both 3 songs were something that almost everyone here was afraid of. So, I just completed carrer on Hard mode to unlock all songs, trained a lot on these songs and decided to try on Expert mode joining this "suicide mission" xD I didn't even use Hyperspeed cheat... I didn't know it that time. After a lot of training and suffering live, when these 3 songs got beaten, I went back to my home after finishing the game beating Lou (which isn't too hard as it seems) with my hands and fingers completely destroyed, but it's worthed and was so happy about it! :D I barely played Through the Fire and Flames well, even knowing that wasn't rock metered (Impossible to fail). Was almost midnight here and around 3-4 people were present to testimony it. Days later, I played those songs again only to put my records on it and saved on memory card via Quick Play mode. I miss these good old days

They should also package a new guitar or if you had the GH Live guitar you could use that as well. Considering the code for the game is most likely still in existence somewhere at Activision HQ, all they need to do is update the textures. But since it’s not Call of Duty it’ll probably never happen. Plus Activision is having internal issues atm so they shouldn’t focus on more games before their issues are sorted out

The one on Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables (the one with the intro) and a remaster they made for Give Me Convenience Or Give Me Death (the one without the intro) GH3 made a cover of the original Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables recording, while the Rock Band games got the master recording of the Give Me Convenience Or Give Me Death version
Guitar Hero re-recorded covers occasionally themselves with session musicians. I’ve heard both versions of Holiday In Cambodia by the different Dead Kennedys lineups, and this isn’t either of them.
The mix of this song freakin blows. I never thought I would get annoyed by a hi-hat as a drummer, but I think it pisses me off the most. It’s distracting and tbh kind of an insult to the actual Holiday In Cambodia.

Faz o cheat de hyper velocidade e fica mais fácil,as notas ficam mais espaçadas e você consegue acertar a maioria,com o bug de apertar os botões pra palhetar

The one on Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables (the one with the intro) and a remaster they made for Give Me Convenience Or Give Me Death (the one without the intro) GH3 made a cover of the original Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables recording, while the Rock Band games got the master recording of the Give Me Convenience Or Give Me Death version
