Then they slowly slipped in that he didn't know because he was at a dinner with his family. I didn't give two $hits what LeBron was doing until they brought it up. What's the real upside for the other team to get Lebron at this point? Actual contenders aren't going to want to deal with his usual insistence of having control of the team or his contract's effect on their cap and wasting a roster spot on Bronny

@@MR.__GPlaying center for the Lakers long-term has done AD no favors, especially not in the last few years. It's put more wear and tear on his body than there already is usually, and he always had to cover for the weaknesses and lapses of his teammates, including LeBron, who just doesn't give a shit about defense. That can only go so far. He will have less of a defensive load to carry with the Mavs, which may help him preserve his body. Given his age and his injury history, that is necessary for him.
@@urbaindelva7869 you’re absolutely right ! And like you stated all the ground he had to cover on defense due to the lack of defenders on his team didn’t help him at all. With guys like gafford, pj, klay, grimes, lively who will pitch in defensively.. and Kidd was the assistant for the lakers in 2020 when they had the best defense in the league. So this moves helps AD a lot
@@urbaindelva7869 I think AD is secretly happy to go! He was done working for LBJ & Sons. Did you see AD's face in the Philly game when Bronny botched the basic post entry pass and then AD had to pick up a foul cause Bronny didn't stop the ball properly? Hilarious 😂.
Slight correction: that exception you’re referring to was only waived after AD was traded. He couldn’t have waived that exception before the trade. I do actually believe that AD didn’t know
Lebron's track history has always lead to him being behind most of his teammates being traded. The only other time Lebron didn't know a trade happened was when Kyrie Irving was sent to Boston. If you remember, Kyrie Irving was secretly being shopped around during draft night to pair Paul George and Eric Bledsoe with Lebron James but the trade didn't go through. Kyrie caught wind of that information and instead went to Dan Gilbert and demanded to be traded and if he didn't he threatened to get surgery that year which would sit him out the whole year. The media treated Kyrie, they made him public enemy number 1 because took control of his destiny and that pissed them off. They're was tension between Kyrie and Lebron as Kyrie at the time took the Kobe Route in trying to prove he can do things on his own with his own team. Now as for AD, i lean towards Lebron not knowing for the simple fact that the media for the most part never shys away from the fact that Lebron is always involved in trade discussions and is always consulted with. One would say, "oh well that's just to save face." But there's been rumors about Lebron being fustrated with AD in the past and even rumors of Lakers trading AD but nothing ever came of it. This move definitely doesn't seem fully fleshed out yet as they still need more pieces to put together this roster. In most Lebron James involved trades there's always guys that are nind to fit with Lebron. Luka playes a similar style to Lebron and is 15 years younger who's top 3 or 4 best players in the world. This move was done to replace Lebron James not pair them up to be title contenders as they dont have the pieces to do that.
Well Kyrie got screwed again. And they traded his best friend Marquis Morris to the Lakers as well. (Klay Thompson came to Dallas because of Luka) But, Dallas has a two year window for the Finals still open.
The fact they say that from the beginning means he has some to do with it, and they know the narrative that LeBum is LeGM and kinda admit it right here lol
Its amazing how many Lebron fans think this move puts them over the top. Lakers essentially lost their entire defense and replaced him with another traffic cone along lebron. AD was probably calling out Lebron's defense always having to help.
Exactly. As of this season, in giving up Davis for Luca, the Lakers are gaining 2.5 PPG(on more minutes with Luca, so with adjusted for equal minutes, scoring is almost the same), but are also losing on rebounds, steals, blocks, OWS and DWS, and their entire defensive core. This trade is good for Dallas in the short term, and Lakers in the long term (which Lebron won`t even be on the team by then). And that`s ASSUMING Luca even stays in LA, AND stays healthy.

How are they gonna say klutch didn’t know about the trade? AD is their client. This is all complete bs and just unbelievable. I was born at night but not last night
LeBronze wants to play with him for 2 reasons: -he always wants someone to carry him -he’s afraid Luka will pass him in the GOAT talk & wants people to say “Well, some of that was because he played with Bron”
Lakers fan here. Now that we got Luka, I’m desperate to get LeBron out of the organization. I wanted him gone before this trade came about but now that we have a valid replacement we need to start building for the future. We need a hoop protector as now we have two stars that hardly play defense. We are going to need to simply outscore every team each night with these two sharing the court.
That’s an interesting perspective, and you’re not alone in thinking that Mark Cuban’s relationship with the NBA changed after the 2011 championship. Before that, he was one of the league’s loudest and most rebellious owners-constantly calling out the league office, referees, and even David Stern himself. He racked up millions in fines over the years for criticizing officiating and league decisions. But after winning that 2011 title, something changed. Many fans feel like Cuban became more of an "NBA insider" rather than the outspoken disruptor he used to be. He stopped being as aggressive in challenging the league and seemed to fall in line with the broader NBA business interests. Some even speculate that winning in 2011 came with an unspoken agreement-that Cuban would play ball with the league from that point forward. If that’s the case, it makes this Luka trade even more suspicious. Some fans believe Cuban “owed” the NBA a favor, and now that favor is being cashed in by sending Luka to the Lakers to extend LeBron’s career and keep one of the league’s most valuable franchises in championship contention. The idea is that Cuban, despite being a smart businessman, may have made this move knowing it wasn’t in Dallas’ best interest but did so to maintain his standing with the league’s power structure. Of course, we’ll never know for sure. But if you follow the patterns of NBA history, there’s always been a sense that certain teams-especially the Lakers-tend to get the kind of trades and deals that keep them competitive in ways that don’t always seem fair.
Ok fine but adding another LeFlopper is like playing with your mirror image. And a weak one that is. I simply think that Luka will take LeBum role when LeWashed is done. Does it mean that retirement is sooner that anticipated? Wait and see...
Except Cuban sold the Mavs two years ago and is no longer involved in the day-to-day operations with the Mavs. So, Cuban had no power to make this move.
@@taharqa332 No, he doesn't. He has zero influence in the organization. He was forced out after the sale. He thought he was going to be involved but they forced him out. It's been written about.
Right. The fact that they prefaced every report with "LeBron had NO idea" is them trying to get out in front of the narrative they know is going to circulate. The LeGM narrative.
If LeBron didn’t know. That means Lakers are done with LeBron and his antics and don’t give AF anymore. Whether he knew or not, both situations are not a good look for LeBron. Good move on the Lakers part. But something is fishy here for sure

I still don't understand why Lebron knowing about the trade is so bad if it were true. Like why? Is it cos if and when the trade backfires, Lebron can't be blamed? And going the other way around, if Lebron didn't know about the trade, why is it so important for us to know that? We had this Lebron news right after the trade and even before we even got a reaction from either AD and Luka. IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE
A real journalist would say "there's no evidence that LeBron knew", but instead they're insisting that LeBron had no knowledge. How do they do know that for sure?
I think the test to really see if this is in fact a Lebron backed move or not is whether or not the Lakers try to trade him this season. You have a 40 year old max contract that isn't quite performing, especially on the defensive end. In order to be competitive, you need that other max contract guy to perform at a high level. If they dump Lebron, they are building for the future. If not, Lebron asked for this. As for the Mavs, you seriously couldn't get Dalton Kenect or Austin Reeves back instead of a crap draft pick in 5 years?
James probably has one 'fairwell' season left in him. LA wouldn't miss out on caching in on that. Regardless that he's lying about the trade, LA's also doing it because they know Lebron is retiring soon. Why the Mavs would go along with this is the real question.
@@JJFX- The best ongoing theory of why they did this is that the new owners of the Mavs (The Aldermans) have strong ties to Las Vegas and want to move the Mavs there. So they orchestrated this to anger the fanbase to trigger a boycott so they would have justification to move the team. There is no basketball reason to make this move, but there is plenty of financial reasons to do it.
@jwarrior9986 I don't know man, that's a stretch. I'd definitely believe they want to do move to Vegas but that's a pretty extreme plan to accomplish it.
Honestly I can believe this. Nobody besides ownership knew about this. J-kidd looked shocked like he had no words at that press conference. Like he was devastated. Plus Agents can’t legally discuss other clients dealings. Nobody knew about this trade
J-Kidd looked shocked cause he knows that if this doesn't go well he'll be fired first. GMs always blame the coach. Just like Pelinka's been doing in LA for years. It's never the roster it's always the coach.
Oh please, agents aren't lawyers. If Rich Paul knew about this, in no universe do I believe he didn't tell Lebron. That's assuming he wasn't already involved.
Yeah, LeBron didn’t know and AD didn’t know but within a couple of hours AD waived an almost $6M trade kicker to leave his $20M+ Los Angeles house that he just bought last year. LeBron didn’t even know but within a few hours he was fine with trading away the guy he made the Lakers mortgage their entire future for. Right. He had no idea but what a miracle he’s completely content with the trade and magically wants to stay a Laker. Right. They literally think sports fans are dumb and since LeBron’s agency, Klutch Sports, has infiltrated the NBA media including ESPN, LeBron will never be portrayed as what he is: A super selfish guy who will throw any and every teammate to put himself in what he feels is the best position for his legacy.
Of course they're lying. This is just another example of the league working out a superstar trade to the Lakers and an attempt to get some eyeballs back on the product.
Thank you, I was going crazy seeing fanboys believing that he didn’t know. He didn’t want to be seen as “coach or gm” He didn’t want everyone to know that he will betray his own “klients” that are “karrying” him
Which is actually very stupid on their part. Like why even put it out there? They could have just said that Lebron was shocked about the news but excited about the opportunity. Instead they go on the offensive and anticipate the blowback, which just puts more attention on Lebron 🤣🤣🤣 they're so fckn stupid
@@redhorsepapiThat’s a given for Lebron though hahah but you’re correct, I think they’re so used to whatever they say being taken as law by the nba media.
Seems like this should be the one time Lebron would WANT to take credit if anything. Lebron isn't the first star player that's used his status to influence team decisions and he won't be the last. What gets Lebron ridiculed is just how knee jerk and flat out bad he is at it. We all think the Lakers committed highway robbery which is weirdly out of character for the Lakers front office (gee I wonder why) and it's not like anyone is surprised Lebron threw AD under the bus, it's one of the few things he's still elite at. Even if/when Luka takes over the team his fanboys can still spin it. If they lose, the Lakers were missing Lebron's "leadership" and if they win they'll say it's because Lebron was being magnanimous and put his ego aside for the team.

The fact that Luka and AD both waived their 15% salary trade bonuses, which would have paid them both millions and millions more this year, shows that both players wanted out and away from their teams. And, they did it IMMEDIATELY! AD nor Luka even fought it. Luka was not going to sign with the Mavs after next season because he wanted to go play for his idol Kobe Bryant Lakers... I have that on great sources within the Mavs locker room. They have known Luka planned on moving on to the Lakers for months.

@Ostenjoyer any pick used on him was a waste. Do you really think he wouldn't have been available as an undrafted free agent? Why not use that pick instead on someone who could believably make an NBA roster?
The reason for this top secrecy is because the NBA wanted this to happen, Why? Simple, they are trying to push Wimby up to super star status and for there to be 2 power houses in Dallas would not be good for the organization bottom line, MONEY. Bottom line is the new owner, a Vegas built big man, wants to bring the mavs to Vegas. NIco built his team to win and it was going very well, but now the directive is to dismantle the team. I thought the same, too. This news was supposed to be mainly on Luka and AD, but for some reason, they kept bringing in LeBron's name. Then they slowly slipped in that he didn't know because he was at a dinner with his family. I didn't give two $hits what LeBron was doing until they brought it up. If anything, I was wondering why they didn't trade him instead.
What's the real upside for the other team to get Lebron at this point? If they get him to sell tickets, their credibility goes down the toilet and they'll have problems getting anybody to watch after he leaves. Actual contenders aren't going to want to deal with his usual insistence of having control of the team or his contract's effect on their cap and wasting a roster spot on Bronny

LeBron’s vision of teaming up with all of his competition. This is what’s making the NBA boring.
This trade needs to be investigated.
Investigated? Who watches the Watchers?
The NBA has investigated itself and found no wrongdoing
The whole "AD didn't know" is fishy as well. He waived a 6 million dollar exception in order for the trade to go through.
I wouldn’t be surprised if AD also knew. Kinda funny how he ends up on a team that has 2 quality centers so he could go back to his natural PF position. I honestly wouldn’t put it past him
@@MR.__GPlaying center for the Lakers long-term has done AD no favors, especially not in the last few years.
This 100%
Good read
Well Kyrie got screwed again. And they traded his best friend Marquis Morris to the Lakers as well. (Klay Thompson came to Dallas because of Luka) But, Dallas has a two year window for the Finals still open.
The fact they say that from the beginning means he has some to do with it, and they know the narrative that LeBum is LeGM and kinda admit it right here lol
Nico Harrison is an uncle to bronny James as reported by rich paul. You best believe lebron is in on all this. Its laughable to think he wasn’t
Dude there is no way on earth thst lakers making any trade without leflop knowledge. The fact that ppl can even think thiscis diabolical
That’s why it’s crazy to think that LeBron wanted this. Luka’s his replacement not his costar

When AD said it took him 7 more seasons to pass him ( Mj ). That was the nail in the coffin 😂
Luka will be the new scapegoat and will demand a trade next season. Just go ahead and put him down as the next Harden.
LeBronze wants to play with him for 2 reasons:
-he always wants someone to carry him
-he’s afraid Luka will pass him in the GOAT talk & wants people to say “Well, some of that was because he played with Bron”
They want to keep Bron to mentor Luka, apparently.
@ hopefully Bron can get Luka to take his fitness and diet more serious.
@@Mirror_of_the_Soul00CP lakers would have certainly affected Lebum’s Miami legacy😂

Imagine Luka is killing the league out of shape and NBA wants to say the 80s and 90s are weak.
