Dear Adaeze, big thank you to you and your brave mother for sharing her experience. Your mother is one in a million. She mentioned something about your brother breaking the jinx of only son, and this what she must pray about, because the challenges of your precious brother hinges on this. Pray against the powers that are angry that a second son was born to die. I have understand, I have 2 sons, though they can communicate very well. God bless you.

Yes, autism can be properly managed when it is diagnosed early. Diet also helps. You really need a whole lot of money for that. I'm talking from family's experience. Little Boy was diagnosed with ASD when he was a year old. Before he talked, it was only prayer. They had to get a private tutor for him to teach him things ranging from basic home activities to school activities. He also had a special diet different from the family's, that is, no artificial food, not even sugar or spicy in foods. He has been on natural food till date. He will be 6yrs this year and I must say, he is always among the best in his class which is not even a special school
May God continue to strengthen you and your family ma, AMEN!

It was like I was hearing my story being told. From his being the easiest labor and delivery of all my children, to being a second son in over 3 generations of only one son, to him wandering off and going missing, to him being so incredibly handsome. The only difference is I suspected early and he is getting early intervention, ABA, occupational and speech therapy. He is presently non-verbal and this video has encouraged me further in my faith that he would speak coherently in Jesus name, Amen. Your mom is a strong beautiful woman. More blessings in Jesus name.

Thank you so much @adaeze for bringing your lovely mum to share her experience with us. I love her frankness and words of advice. Handling a child with autism is difficult even abroad however there are facilities and caregivers provided for them in their system; they have a support system so it comes of much easier than it is here in Nigeria but certainly not without challenges! Children with autism can do so many things including cooking, painting, clean up etc! They should never be hidden or excluded from everyday life it society just like mama has adviced. God bless you and your dear mum for sharing with us🥰

Thank you Adaeze. I really enjoyed every bit of this interview and didn't want it to end. I was excited to hear that there will be a part two. Autism is very common here in the UK. There are good schools and support for parents. In fact the government pay parents of autistic children to look after them and even provide brand new cars, respite and suitable accommodation to them as part of the support process. Your family especially your mum is an inspiration to have taken care of this child in a Nigeria setting where these supports are not available. May God reward all ur efforts 👏👏👏

It's so sad that Nigeria's medical negligence and mistakes has affected a lot of people without them knowing it. I guess the baby was suffering from severe milk allergy that the doctors couldn't diagnose. All these could have been prevented if the doctors knew what they were doing. Who knew if it was the injection they gave him that caused damages that led to his autism diagnoses? May God help us all. Nigeria medical system is a jungle. So sad.

i came to america at the age of 8 i am now 34 living in Virginia, all my family are here. God bless my grandmother for bring us all here, we go to ghana sometimes but with the knowledge ive accqured here about children sometimes i was i can go around villages and small towns in ghana to help mothers on certain things about children and not blame everything on witchcraft. at time i dont blame them so much with that mind set about certain behavior because thats how they were raise. for example growing up i never saw a special need child i didnt even think such children existed in ghana because they were hidden. for example after giving birth some women go thru post partum but in the small towns and villages help is not there. Mama God bless you for sharing your story. Ive learn alot growin up being a wife and a mother to 3 kids and i always PRAISE our MOTHERS AROUND THE WORLD

I got so captivated by this video for so many reasons. Mama at this age is a born again who understands speaking the scriptures over every circumstance, chai! May God preserve your salvation. Another reason is mentioning one of my lecturers in medical school, Dr Ulasi; and of course the renowned cardiothoracic surgeon of UNTH, Dr Ahaji. Finally ASD; I can completely relate bcos I have kids with similar diagnosis. Mine is a bit different bcos both achieved walking earlier than their mates, but the abnormal behaviours and speech gave the alert. Indeed they are so pretty. In my number of years in the medical school, I heard ASD but never saw a case. I love the part mama said speak the scriptures over them, this I do without ceasing. Indeed Elroi never sleeps nor slumbers.

Mummy is a very strong woman. It's so unfortunate that Nigeria system is a failed system. Even though I don't have a special need child but I've learnt a lot from mama . Thank you Ma for sharing your words of wisdom with us.
