    We will show the step by step process of making your own mud bricks. 🏡
    Mud, as opposed to the popular view, is not a good insulator. We live in a mud house with 18" thick walls, which provides a high thermal mass and helps with temperature extremes we get during the day (cold nights, hot days) where we are. The bricks we make are 12" (instead of a 9" red brick). Mud is a very forgiving medium to construct with, and when you make any changes to the structure ... you don't create any debris or rubble ... you can just reuse the mud!
    This is how we make the bricks.

      Hey same! As an autistic Person I gotta make a village siitakkeita for autistic people in the woods! And Idk start a nation or you know a micronation. A micronation is a nation that is a country not recognized by the UN. Examples are: Molossia, Principality of sealand, Transnistria and more.
      But Thanks for the brick tutorial
      Now I truly belive that mud can be used as bricks.

      It isn't efficient. in most places you can't use bricks like this for a reason.

    Here in Kerala, it's difficult and costly to procure a compressed earth block (CEB) press (like the Mardini MB-2 out of Karnataka or the TARA Balram-MI out of New Delhi; so we're leaning towards earthbag and adobe for constructing a small Secure Storage / Seedbank / Storm Shelter. I like the dome roofs with the earthbags too!

    The house build from this bricks is very healthy, it will be cool in Hot season, warm in cold (winter and rainy) season.
    The big problem is Mouse, Mice. size of the wall is large width, i.e. minimum 18 inches. Ground and first floor may be constructed, not more than that.
    Plaster must be from this type clay which requires maintenance with interval of 5-8 years. Cement and sand plaster may be made with help of nails but plaster life is 15-18 years, after that remove plaster and once again make plaster.
    But any it is environment friendly bricks and home no wastage which can be reused.

      You would want to create fires clay tiles for the roof. Perhaps mud would work in place of clay but the important part is being able to fire dry it to retard water and make it hard enough to withstand erosion.

      That's the recipe used for CEB or compressed earth blocks, adding about 6% cement to traditional mud bricks increases material strength and weather resistance

    Can you please say , after placing the brick from wooden box , after how many days will it be fine to replace to build a home ?

    • @peepalfarm
      @peepalfarm  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It will depend on how long it takes to dry. We turn it on its side in 3 days, and then it's completely dry in another 4. As long as it's hot weather, it will dry in 7-8 days and is ready to use.

      I'm in QLD and ive used yard clippings, dead and live grass all with success. Straw is hella expensive because of the drought so I feel your pain my dude. Just empty your mower catcher into the mix and youre good to go. Made some about 2 years ago that have been left in the rain and when theyre dry they are stupid strong. (to avoid wear and tear obviously make a cover of some kind)
