Hi from Manitoba, Canada, today after finally watching first 32 videos, my son and I learned more both feel better to paint will be painting Fairy Wren. I love your videos, they are just like the book series if they created or not yet on "How to watercolor for Dummies" series. We love your bloopers. Little Tip if you are using a cell for photos try taking videos of animals then go back and capture the frame you want. Most allow you to take a photo from a video. I do this for photos with my boys works out to making it easy to get the real smiles. Thank you for your quick and easy lessons. Will defiantly add to our watercolor list.
I absolutely love birds. I watch then all day out my window. Wrens are so cute. They are so loud and vocal. They move like they have had 6 cups of coffee. LOL

So soft and lovely! I love watercolors for small birds. The medium gives them a fragility that isn't as easy to get in acrylics! Such a lovely painting, Louise! 🥰🎨 Cheryl

I so appreciated what you said about it being hard to copy another artist. I thought I was dim witted because I can't seem to do well until I just take the techniques taught and go off on my own. I feel stiff and mechanical when I’m trying to follow instructions precisely. Once I can tap in to a more intuitive space, I do better. Marrying the two - intuition and instruction - are a challenge for me. Hopefully, I will improve with practice.
You will! I know it would be very difficult for me to copy the style of another artist - excellent practice - but very difficult. My drawing teacher used to make us draw 'in the style of' other artists from time to time. It was excellent for building our skills but not easy to change our own style. We all have different hand writing so our style of painting is going to be different. Use the techniques that work for you and toss out the rest and do your own thing. 💕
Learning the techniques and making them your own is what it is all about. I too use to try and copy an artist style and could never get it exact and learned my own style while using their techniques.

Louise I enjoyed this tremendously though I'm very late watching it. Please please please don't be so nervous about doing a live...we are only human and even if you did make a mistake somewhere it would be perfectly fine. I would love to see more lives as well so I can watch everything as its happening but I love you dearly and I will watch either way...voice over or live. This was wonderful! 🥰

Almost like an actor who never feels totally confident when they go out on stage to perform...I'm amazed that you are anxious whenever you begin a new piece, with all your experience. I guess the fear never truly goes away. I am in a state of fear now, afraid to try, to begin a new piece...the only way to get over it is to paint, I guess. I love watching your videos they inspire me. Now to get over my fear as well!
Thanks Diane. I don't think the anxiety will ever go away (for me anyway). You're right- just go for it! I tell myself it's only a piece of paper (expensive paper however). 🥴
Just be less precious. I do find it easier with cheaper paper too. But as for nerves if I was painting in front of 300 plus people I would be so tense it would just be an awful painting no matter how comfortable I was with the subject or materials.
Louise, you did a fabulous job. I learned so much from this tutorial....the most important thing was patience.....don't rush. Yes, please do another live stream, I know you were nervous; but, I feel the more you do, the easier it will get. Tell your sweet hubby he did a good job, too. I'm watching from South Carolina, USA.
