I know I am not the only one who expected to see Jacob Collier's arrangement for Moon River before watching the video.
Yeah their names are strikingly similar, then I noticed when this video was published
Same. But was pleasantly surprised to hear this incredible arrangement.

@@anansiackhasone3428 as he said in another video (and as I can confirm from practicing this song for 10 months) the beginning (big and fast jumps in left hand) is much harder than the triplets.
@@ilianos indeed, it sounds all soft and smooth but is actually nightmarish to practice, maintain the ostinato in right hand while leaping back and forth between comping and melody in the left hand is extremely difficult, have to use metronome to work on the passage, make me wonder how long it took for him to arrange this piece.
Interesting how this is in 4 4 time signature (when it is originally in 3 4), it adds a lot

I didn't think I liked this at first, but it's quite literally 'haunting'. Like, I can just be going about my day and it all of a sudden floats into my head and gives me a little nudge of like _'Hey, remember me? I exist, and I'm kinda awesome...'_ and then I have to come back and listen again.
Some of those harmonies and progressions are stunning, and his touch and control is perfect - which I think is the hardest part of playing this piece.
Love it.... despite the harassment...
Still one of my favorite arrangements ever, the solo then into the left hand triplets under the melody is just amazing 👏

How do you record these intricate pieces, passages without making a single mistake or slipped note? Do you just record straight off on one take? The first time you get it 100 per cent correct? Your cinematic book is a must have!
Sometimes I get it in one take and other times I have to do it a bunch before I nail it. I usually write arrangements to challenge myself technically and musically so they aren't usually easy for me to play. To me that's the fun of it. Keep pushing myself beyond what I think is possible. @@JacobKollerMusic This is obviously a challenge for anyone to learn. Cateen could probably nail it rather quickly. While I believe the arrangement is very well done, I honestly prefer a simpler style of playing that emphasizes harmonic creativity. That said, Chopin is very pleased with your work.

Same here (~100 times) but in probably 2 months cause I don't want to give up learning this beautiful peace. Not to mention that I need to watch this several times in a row although I've bought the sheet music :-D

What a fantastic Moon River, the most incredible piano arrangement that i,ve ever listened...
Im learning this moon river now. The hard part for me is to bring out the top notes in the left hand while keeping all other notes softer. Need practice my finger strength control.

Wonderful harmonies, clear structure, a beautiful arrangement with a touch that is your very own. For me personally, however, a bit too "flustered" (too much happening). But perhaps I'm just a sucker for slow flowing music. Again, great job.
