That's .00000085 of a cent per play. As absolutely despicable as that is, companies like Spotify think they're paying too much . . . and don't take my word for it, do the research.

So my point is, all this complaining ain’t gonna change anything … just like before the internet there’s some music groups making A TON of money and MANY MORE who are not making any at all. You can livestream from your home studio to venues around the world irl to make ticket sales when NOT touring. Your samples weren't cleared because they weren't yours. I stopped using samplers for that because of the likelihood of getting sued. I just sample myself now for live convenience, or animal sounds etc

@@Des_Armoni (this is a paragraph) i would say the artists you are referring to don’t hire good personal managers, and also don’t hire good entertainment lawyers. a personal manager dictates your career decisions such as releases, appearances concerts etc. and manages how your funding is being utilized. a good entertainment lawyer is able to negotiate advances and contracts properly with labels and distributors. most of what you see nowadays (aside from ear-pick artists) scramble to find a good team once they become famous. hence bad contracts, marketing etc, and a lot less money in the long run.

I agree about that tine period, but I think this D2C concept will trigger a rebirth where the artists curates music differently, exactly for their fans & not working as hard for these major labels & streaming platforms.
AI music will replace human created music by 2026. That's how the industry will change. 9 of the top 10 songs on Spotify will be AI generated and nobody will care. Human musicians will care, but casual listeners will not care. Human musicians will still make up a small niche market (maybe 5%-10%) but the human music industry will be finished. So we don't even have to talk about Bandcamp or D2C or any of that because it won't matter because of the dominance of AI music in the future.
Re AI and people not adopting the latest tech being left behind, I don't think AI can be looked at in the same way for one reason, humanity. Call me naive or hopeful, but I think the time will come when people won't want to listen to or view things a computer made, even with prompts from a human, OVER things humans have put their souls into. People have liked the art of people for decades because of shared emotions with another human. AI can only fake that connection. You could look at this as being similar to how people are now going back to vinyl over CDs but I think it's a much bigger thing and will be a much faster recoil.

Naaah its dead already trust me. Music will still be made and that will make money exchange hands but thats it. It has no value after its made. Unfortunately. If you cant get a return on investment then this junk is done. People aren’t getting a return. A song costs about 10-50k for a beat, gotta record it and mix it that could range from 300-5k, music video 5-500k. Stop it its done 😂

i would say the artists you are referring to don’t hire good personal managers, and also don’t hire good entertainment lawyers. a personal manager dictates your career decisions such as releases, appearances concerts etc. and manages how your funding is being utilized.
a good entertainment lawyer is able to negotiate advances and contracts properly with labels and distributors. most of what you see nowadays (aside from ear-pick artists) scramble to find a good team once they become famous. hence bad contracts, marketing etc, and a lot less money in the long run.
Missed the mark on the 2000s that was literally peak music from pop to rock to rnb to rap😂 but yeah i hope you’re right but is lean more towards the industry just being completely dead unless youre drake or taylor swift or beyonce
I agree about that tine period, but I think this D2C concept will trigger a rebirth where the artists curates music differently, exactly for their fans & not working as hard for these major labels & streaming platforms.
AI music will replace human created music by 2026. That's how the industry will change. 9 of the top 10 songs on Spotify will be AI generated and nobody will care. Human musicians will care, but casual listeners will not care. Human musicians will still make up a small niche market (maybe 5%-10%) but the human music industry will be finished. So we don't even have to talk about Bandcamp or D2C or any of that because it won't matter because of the dominance of AI music in the future.

Re AI and people not adopting the latest tech being left behind, I don't think AI can be looked at in the same way for one reason, humanity. Call me naive or hopeful, but I think the time will come when people won't want to listen to or view things a computer made, even with prompts from a human, OVER things humans have put their souls into. People have liked the art of people for decades because of shared emotions with another human. AI can only fake that connection. You could look at this as being similar to how people are now going back to vinyl over CDs but I think it's a much bigger thing and will be a much faster recoil.

Very interesting and informative. I'll be taking your courses seriously. As far as AI, it is presently in its third stage, the next stage it reasons which is foundational to creativity. Artists will be more and more collaborative with AI to produce music. The only advantage humans will have is emotions until Ai evolves to the 5th stage, now we're in totally unfamiliar territory.
Good point in that technology isn't going away. People mistakenly compare AI to crypto scams, but the difference is that AI has real world utility for various applications unlike long numbers that have no intrinsic real world value.
They wanna make it so the music you consume is all AI generated on the spot based on your feelings. Musicians aren’t going to make money anymore unless they are performing and even then, how will people find your music when there will be an infinite amount of new music being created daily? Sure, it might be better but even now, bad music gets popular easily. And these platforms won’t promote music or artists that aren’t their own.
