    IOM Says 350 Enugu indigenes return from Libya, Niger, and others
    Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has expressed the readiness of the government to partner with the International Organisation for Migration, IOM, to ensure the safe return, resettlement, and reintegration of irregular, stranded migrants from the state.
    Governor Mbah stated this when he received a delegation of the IOM in Nigeria led by the Chief of Mission, Laurent De Boeck, at the Government House Enugu
    As part of efforts to mitigate the menace of irregular migration, Chief of Mission, De Boeck, said the main activity of the IOM in the state was in the area of ensuring the “return and reintegration of young, able people, who left the country.”
    He revealed that the mission has been able to helped 350 stranded and irregular immigrants of Enugu State extraction, mostly from Libya and Niger Republic, to return home
    Governor Peter Mbah while feeling our measures instituted by his administration that is capable of giving the migrants a new living, promised to partner the mission by creating Transit camp for migrants from the state
    He maintained that he is determined to harness the value of Diaspora remittances through human and material resource development by setting up a Diaspora Bond in the state.
    The Chief Mission lauds Governor Mbah initiatives to tap into successful Nigerians in the diaspora to assist given their rich database and contacts with Nigerian professionals, businessmen and women, and students, among others, across the world.
