What should I do when my car doesn't have a QDlink app?

Some weird things happen to my i20 2011 steering audio controls.
When the MID Display is in standby mode, none of the steering audio controls are functioning.
However, when any media is being played, all steering audio controls are working.
I have no issues with Horn, Head Stereo Unit, MID Display Unit. All parts are stock OEM.
Only issues is buttons are not working in MID standby mode.
Please kindly help me solve this serious just one issue. Thanks.
