As a person who likes photography and lives in Singapore, I always try and take pictures of anything that is interesting, unique and yet still giving a hint of Singapore. This is really inspirational because I've always found Singapore a little boring..haha. But can't wait to see more of your content!
Love it! Nice work & love the message. As a photographer as well, I’m always trying to explore and document more interesting things to in SG. “Boring” is just a matter of perspective.
high quality stuff, glad the algorithm brought me here! would love to see a vid on how you colour grade. looking forward to seeing your channel grow :)
I liked this. Whoever says that "XXX is boring" including photography and Singapore... or photographing Singapore... is not looking hard enough. (Yes I occasionally find my ordinary Singaporean life boring) It's all a matter of perspective. And the thing about street photography is that there is always the presence of people. Even landscape photography in Singapore, since we're 100% urban, is always going to have traces of human life as you clearly show with your HDB at Bukit Gombak. It's the actions of humans that make photography so fascinating, I think.
That's the point isn't it? Every street shooter wants the energy and diversity of a NYC, London, Hong Kong (pre-invasion), Paris, Tokyo, etc...But most of us live in seemingly full places (at least to our jaded eyes), it is up to us to make it visually interesting. As Gary Winogrand once quipped “Anything and all things are photographable”.
Thank you! I took a lot of time and (sweat - in Singapore) to frame the shots and nail what I like to capture, it can be difficult at times but thank you for your kind words, it makes all the trouble worth it!
This looks incredible! Been on this photography journey for 10 years now and I'm still trying to find the beauty in every corner of our small island. May I know what you use to edit your videos?
I've been a long-term user of Premiere Pro but recently I made the switch to Davinci Resolve just to try out more in-depth colorgrading! Thank you for the kind comment, I hope you continue to find beauty in our little sunny island haha
Let's not kid ourselves. Singapore is as functional as you can get. Can forget about dramatic backdrops, a building is not too far away. Perhaps the only valuable shots you can get are of people living their lives in this urban landscape.
Is Singapore boring for photography?….Ask Mindy Tan, she has a great channel here on TH-cam, she does some outstanding work. She was a Fuji Ambassador, though I don't believe she is any longer. He channel has been quiet for almost a year, but still worth checking out. Keep up the good work, Aiksoon…👍
I love my 24-70 Set-Up! But if I had to choose one single focal length, I find myself using 35mm a lot since it replicates what our eyes see (edit: sorry not replicate but closest to what our eyes see or perceive things)
Is Singapore boring? Yes because besides the City Centre, there isn't that much diversity in terms of landscape, there's no unique geography, towers or structures to represent each planning towns, all just HDB flats or big factories/warehouses. And societies in these planning areas are homogeneous with no unique traditions or quirks which makes it unique (except for Yishun maybe). All I wanna say is instead of saying Singapore is diverse all the time how about you apply it in real life.
It’s boring in a way that it lacks a lot of creativity. You don’t see buskers or kids being kids and many skate parks closed down. It's more docile and predictable
idk how youtube suggestion algorithm got me here, but i love your work. keep it up!
Thank you! This means a lot to me!!
Singapore is boring to people who are boring. I can stay out all day, everyday and can find things to do.

Love the pastel ish colorgrading you have done for the video! Nice shots as well for videography and photography!!
Love your colour grading!!!
Love the thumbnail shot and that last frame of the boy with the older man. Many subjective open-ended narratives to be derived from both. Great set!
Thank you!! 🤍
Watching this video on the way to work just made my day a little better ❤
Love seeing that, my brother. Getting out of your comfort zone to create incredible and special things! Thanks for inspiring!

The colours are so cinematic... What are the camera settings for this?
For my videography part I’m shooting mostly 4K25p! For photos, I shoot in RAW format but it’s situational depending on the scene
Wow such an inspirational video, makes me want to take up photography to be like you!

it's not boring bro, but ridiculously hot... no energy to go out in the damn sun

Realised in sg the heat and brightness makes the video very grainy
Oh no, it’s not grainy at all! The grain is edited in by me because I appreciate the film grain giving the overall video a more cinematic look

Adequate lighting + rules of third, there are many spots to take photos in sg.
