      Great content. Like the Jag a lot. CCM module is your Air Condition, so it could mean you A/C compressor is faulty. Try to start the car and put A/C on and then run scan. It might be because ebgine was off so it couldn't test it ?
      Also abs is not a one word :) It is pronounced A-B-S as in sepperate letters just so you know man.
      Thanks for time to sharing vids. I am thinking of buying XJR so its good to know they a DIY cars really. Mercs are so much about software and yeah Scotty has a good point about them. Take care man

      Thank you very much. The older XJRs 1998 to 2003 have a lot less computers. I am going to finish changing the brake pads and rotors video once the rotors arrive.

    2001 XJR, just under a year of ownership now and about 23,000+ miles (its my daily and commuter). Apart from gas and oil changes its been very reliable, mainly just old car issues really...rear wheel bearing, power steering pump, front shock upper mounts, cam cover gaskets, driver's door opener cable, spark plugs and air filter. Only oddball repair was my dual linear switch failed inside the console and it took me a bit to identify the issue and then was tough to find a replacement. All in all, its been a blast and I fall in love every time I get in and drive it.

    Hoping your Halloween was less trick than those 20" rims your running, but thought I might lay a treat on you to commemorate the holiday. When you mentioned the HVAC had thrown a code, and said it was a water pump, you were only half right. It truly is a pump, but its the auxiliary coolant pump it was warning you of. Its impossible to see from the top or bottom, as its buried under the expansion tank to the side and behind the radiator. The brushes in the motor regularly wear out, and may be replaced to restore operation. You'll see it and the hose's attached to it once the expansion tank is pulled free, and from sources has few fasteners to secure it. Its a booster pump for the cabin heater core. Benz's have had them since the 80's, and they may be had whole for a little more cash. Its black plastic housing will look much like the picture I'm including here. Very best wishes, and happy holidays my friend.

      @@ejsgarage because its located near the source of the cores coolant reserve and supply, its sandwiched among those things intentionally. You'll see all the hoses departing the ports of the pump once everything is out. Your heat is going to be substantial once you get it replaced. Glad to lend a hand when needed. These aren't just your normal automobiles we're dealing with here. Happy that I recalled the item existed on these makes and models. Have great evening my friend.

    its crazy how good this paint looks when in good condition, my x308 n/a has the same color just missing clear coat. In your experience does this car with clear attract a lot of attention?

    • @ejsgarage
      @ejsgarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree, the XJR looked fades when I saw it at the dealership but after detailing it. The paint was still in good condition. There are some major scratches that I covered up with touch paint but they eventually need to be repainted. The car gets a lot of attention when I drive it because the clear paint is very shiny. 😃A body shop or paint correction place probaby can fix your 308 😃

    I love Jaguars i had a 2003 3.0 v6 s type the look and the driving experience was awsome but the electrical parts are nightmare. There was always something and i constantly had the check engine light on my dash. I owned the car for 3 years and i spent up to $10k onto the maintance. Mine was a low miles example too. There are certain parts what you have to buy in new like the brake booster or water pump etc. these parts cost a fortune. I spent over a $1000 for the brake booster change and another $1500 for the water pump belt and tensioner change. The front wheel hubs are also pretty expensive cause when you have a worn out bearing you have to change the complete hub cause it’s a complex unit. It contains the ABS sensor too so it’s a completely sealed piece. It costed me around $500 per side to change it. So keeping up a Jaguar is not a cheap thing but for some reason i have never had a bad feel towards the car. Will never forget those beautiful years and miles with the car and maybe someday i will have another one.

Basically to get them in great condition u looking at 8 to 10,000 . I only paid 3500 for the car with 160k miles. I was upset from the maintenance but the engine in these cars are monsters an make up for the money spent . One hell of a engine an this car jets quick . I still have some small parts I need to change thats normal maintenance like rotors an brake pads so Basically its like spending 8 to 10,000 on one that's up to maintenance. One best cars I ever had though .. if u can find one with low miles an up to par on maintenance get it . U won't b sorry

Either the XJR or the XJ Super V8 because its better equipped and has sunroof etc but both have the 4.2 ltr V8 Supercharged engine ...looking for a later model with aluminium body and chassis but tbh a good well looked after one I'll consider and just underseal the body / powder coat the subframes etc etc ... I'd put the smaller pulley on because those that have done that say it makes a big difference plus a stainless steel performance exhaust ( tasteful one as I've heard some nasty raspy ones and that's not what these Jags are about ) and sort out the poor air intake with an aftermarket quality recommended induction air intake ( can't remember the grands now but there are 2 very good quality ones designed specifically for this engine. I have a Ford Mondeo Mk3 ST220 3.0ltr V6 Duratec which the USA never had. Lovely car and still quick with lots of extras. In honesty though i prefer the interior of the XJ Super V8 and the XJR. ....the red piping looks nice and the limited edition 100's will be worth a fortune later but they're already climbing in value and price not surprisingly! There are 3 or 4 100's for sale here at the moment and a few Super V8's and XJR's ...a really nice one around £12,000 but some going up to nearly £30,000 which they won't get.
      I've followed so much advice on these cars to buy and they say it's not worth paying silly money for a low mileage car as short trips won't have done it any good but 80k to 110k is where I'm looking.

    Absolutely Beautiful and Stunning car! Wow, awesome color you picked! Custom paint correct? I've owned many Jags. Love them. I've now got a 95 XJ6 base model. Interesting, similar mileage as yours, @ 116,800 miles. The only problem (new one I've never run across) is the drive shaft center carrier bearing. At between 30-35mph the vibration starts, then goes away. I took the car to Drive Line expert. He quoted me $750 labor to fix it due to the parts in the way to get to it. Have you ever had this problem? Of course the part, the carrier bearing is only $75. Suggestions? Thx again.

      @@derektighe7399 It turns out we had a few issues. But it's completely true that a battery not fully charged will welcome all kinds of problems. We had to replace our compressor and two front air shocks, as well as the throttle body. It turns out, our ABS module was fine. The battery needed charging, but it wasn't obvious it was not charged enough, until tested.
