Probably a New class of warship . Over the past decades the definition and nature of warships have blurred and are fading away . It looks to be something of a destroyer but with a frigate displacement . Expect to see next generation and completely new types of warships going in the future . This should also have electric reactive armor and passive composites or next generation plastic armor . Just my thoughts
BAE Systems revealed similar concept designs in 2017 with the manta ray and trimarans ship. American designers also seem to have the same vision. It seems the future is trimarans and hydro wings. Although, not many companies have revised hydrofoils.

Hydrofoils are not new and were already used on military ships too. The concept failed because of the water depth limitations you get with it. fixed bound to prepared harbors and barley useable in close to coast operation. Also a roughly stable weapons plattform on open sea do to the small ship size. It is also funny to see, five drones support this single trimaran, but their is not even space to carry all five in the trimaran. Additionally the speed buff of the trimaran design is useless if long distance travels are done with your main armorment drag behind like a tug boat does it with frighters. Also how much drones would be the combat load one of each? for example as Royal Navy when operating next to the Falkland islands and you have only one shot on board for each weapon before you have to return to Britain for resuppling the ammo 🤣

That is a given for VLS missile cells. For small ships like Destroyers, VLS makes sense since all the space that spare missiles can take is kinda practically taken by VLS cells themselves. SO they really have to reload them to friendly or home port. The ones that can afford reloading are the size of cruiser or battleships where they usage is impossible to justify.

Equipe the Volodrone with radar and optronics and a powercord to a control vehicle on the ground. When Naval Group is reasoning this too, it must be advantageous.
With radar panels at heights of only 10 m (assuming the hexagonal shapes on the flank are AESA panels), the radar horizon is 13km and the radar range against a 10 m high surface target is only 26.5 km. I suppose a real version would need its radar antennas mounted in a tall mast. Less pretty but more efficient.
You weren't paying attention. The real version will not just use its own radar, but those of other ships and drones flying at every altitude. Assuming extreme connectivity, it could see everything on every ocean at all times. On-board radars would only make sense to really reduce detect-respond latency and that's only a stringent requirement at short range, so placing the radars low makes sense. And it also means less interference with any other antenna on the ship.

So this ships will likely be alone most of the time and won't inteface with anything. Second, radar on drones will likely have short ranges than ship based radars due to antenna size, power generation (...) , and will not be in the air full time for reliability, maintenance, weather reasons (...). This ship may end up having no long range surface-surface coverage most of the time.

ISL a French and German and European in general effort is underway for railguns r&d and testing . By the time this comes about the technology will be ready . Also electric reactive armor could be used for protection . And increase the speed to 35-40 knots . Add hypersonic missiles as well . This is a concept for like 2050 right ?

Bref, je ne sais pas si on peut supporter un nombre suffisant de destroyer.
Je pense que tu peux oublier l’idée de voir des très gros tonnages pour les frégates de la marine nationale… La doctrine a changé avec les fremm, maintenant l’état veut des bateaux multi rôles avec des équipages doublé, c’est plus cohérent en terme de disponibilité et de capacité a répondre aux besoins. De plus l’arrivée du combat collaborative remet en cause la pertinence d’avoir 50 missiles antiaériens sur un seul bateau, quand les repartir les rend plus efficaces.

Nous avons aussi un gros avantage industriel, celui de fabriquer nos bateaux sans utiliser de technologies étrangères. Maintenant le nombre… suffisant ou pas? Tout dépend avec qui tu veux comparer. Quoi qu’on en pense nos frontières sont celles de la France, donc de l’Europe mais aussi de l’OTAN et elles sont sous protection de notre propre dissuasion nucléaire. En dehors de nos frontières, nos intérêts sont les mêmes que nos voisins. Nous sommes dans une position très confortable et il ne faut pas oublier que nous allons probablement devenir 2eme au classement des pays exportateurs d’armement. Notre industrie est donc compétitive et capable de produire aux besoins. Construire beaucoup aujourd’hui ne serait pas cohérent. Les coûts occasionnés par l’entretien d’une énorme flotte nuiraient au développement technologique futur. Il n’y a pas d’argent magique. Donc personnellement je valide les plan de renouvellement de flotte qui nous est annoncé actuellement. A lot similarities with the US Independence Class of littoral combat ships. The trimaran design was not a success as it was retired after only 11 years of service. The French design looks sleek but I hope DCNS and Naval Group looked into why the USS Independence was a failure.

That ship is too big, warships must be small and fast to operate and dodge marine attacks, and they must also be faster, ships over 70 meters long are not fast, just look at this one, just shitty 30 knots of speed, I prefer the small boat that was shown here also the boat with hydrofoils, that's how warships should be, small, very fast and maneuverable
