Bad news Crim, you didn't just "do it in the wrong order" when you Invoked Calamity into Doublecast and Tasha's, you actually can't Invoke a Doublecast and copy the other spell cast with Invoke since it copies the next spell cast after the Doublecast resolved. Same with Galvanic, as you discovered in the next game.

@@sunutopia Is that actually how casting multiple spells off Invoke Calamity works? Does it not use the stack like normal for casting spells?

@@drpibisback7680 galvanic reads the next time you cast. And with invoke you have already “cast” it before the galvanic would trigger

@@drpibisback7680 as a matter of fact, it’s not.
I’ve deleted the comment since it’s misinformation, but for anyone wondering after the fact, I had claimed that the spells cast with Invoke Calamity resolve at the same time - they do not.

It hurt me to see you not use Siesmic Wave to kill Runeforge Champion. I usually read the card as "Deal 3 damage to target creature, and 1 to the rest".

“I guess that resolves, there’s nothing I can do about it.” As Crimson is sitting on a negate against a fading hope. I know the full reason, I just think the phrasing of saying he can’t do anything is funny

With calamity both spells cast at the same time, so even if they resolve separately they are not one before the other. Therefore the second spell is not cast after the other, just resolves. Double cast can double up the copied spells if it is cast before calamity, as it specifically says cmc 4 or less, so in theory casting galvanic then doublecast then calamity gets you the maximum effect.

Some really bizarre lines. Sacrificing treasures mainphase to cast expressive and leave up lands at instant speed, without using them, when you're likely to hit removal to kill initiate. Blowing a foretold dual strike on removal when you have windfall in hand and 5 mana open instead of drawing 4 / making 4 treasures. Passing to opponents turn to cast windfall or deluge when you haven't made a land drop yet.

It was interesting to see a different take on mill in standard, but I'm unconvinced. It feels like a bad UR control. CGB version seems better to me.

Laughter is my favorite card in my Umbris deck. It normally hits for 9 to 10 card per opponent. 3 mana make Umbris a 30/30 lmao I'll move to equip Whispersilk Cloak

You know... You can make pretty much any strategy work if you stuff a bunch of control cards in the deck. This really isn't that interesting. You just took a few mill cards and stuck them in a control shell.
What's interesting is if you had a Mill shell and maybe a little control or card advantage to fill in the holes. That makes for a much more interesting deck than "Oh here's my five thousandth control deck where I switched my one or two win conditions around slightly so that technically it's not the same deck it was before."

because mill is supported in standard next to these mindless aggro decks
how would you expect him to survive past turn 3-5 without "control" cards? also
      tasha's was forgotton realms
      crab/rogues was zendikar
Invoke isn't even a mill card
so outside historic where is this imaginary "mill shell" existing in your mind?

@@pagmon6876 there is ruin crab i guess. Besides that i'm sure there are a few highly inefficient mill cards in standard that you can use to make a bad deck.
