    May I use this short synopsis for a talk I am giving to about 15 senior citizens regarding general HIPAA rules and becoming an assertive patient? It would be perfect because it is informative but not confusing. Thank you very much.

    so i u just wanted to know whether if ur mom was at a hospital and u give the name of ur mom are they allowed to tell u sorry we can’t tell u if she’s here or not? Knowing very well she’s there? That’s falls information... is it justify to deny someone if their loved ones are in the hospital or not??????

      If your Mom has given the #hospital authorization to release her whereabouts to you, then the facility is violating the #patientrights #laws by denying you both contact 💯

    ? If you are seeing a doctor at a practice and that doctor is affiliated with a hospital that you go to do they have the right to look at your hospital medical records when you didn't sign a release they have Sourced out test to the hospital which they were able to look at but getting into my records that had nothing to do with I feel would be illegal they took down notes from some of my visits I believe just because you work there does he give you the permission to look at all my stuff then you write it down for your office which they say they are not affiliated with the hospital asking from Texas

      Jonathan Rogers I'm curious about this as well -- did you ever get an answer?

    • @trainingabc
      @trainingabc  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The hospital can only look at the minimum information necessary to do the job they are tasked with. If your doctor sourced out the test, the hospital would only see the information needed to do the test, not all your information. In the HIPAA waiver you sign at your doctor it probably made mention of this.

    So, what does HIPPA protect? Every Organization has the right to your records. There is no HIPAA.

    • @trainingabc
      @trainingabc  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      HIPAA protects patients. Organizations do not have the right to see or use your records unless you approve it. That it is why you have to sign that HIPAA sheet every time you go to a healthcare provider. Plus, they can only use the minimum necessary information. So they can't look up things they don't need to know.
