Thanks for the review. I am big everdell fan and have been considering this one for a while. I'm still not sure if I'll pick it up or not but you've given me new things to consider!
A lot of people were complaining it's too similar to Base Everdell to justify buying a whole new game especially since Farshore is $70-$100 but it really does feel like a refined/definitive Everdell experience. It has a lot of elements from several Everdell expansions packed into one cohesive experience. I do miss the card matching though. I know it made the experience a little clunky due to the randomness but i liked it thematically and it really immersed me into the city building theme of Everdell.
I wish it had asymmetric player powers though. Everdell Bellfaire introduced player powers and they were so much fun.
Something I like doing with regular Everdell is swapping in and out the different expansions to keep the game different. I have to imagine that, as designers, they were like glad to have the extra flexibility of being able to mess with and change the base game. I like that the rulebook has a very brief section that use can use to learn the game of you have played Everdell before. Price concerns are 100% valid but as a game im happy with it
Glad to see the new game out in the wild! Have the Everdell Complete Collection and this seems a bit more manageable to set up/bring new people into playing with.
It really is. We grabbed it up quickly and it has a nice mix of mechanics from the base game and the expansions. And, once people learn this, it's a lot easier to step into Everdell as well
I loathe playing Everdell because I always feel like I'm making the wrong choice and I'm bad at long-term planning. But I love to play Farshore because of how lenient and flexible it is! Big fan.
I hate everdell because it feels like the game ends before you can even do anything. It’s cute and that’s about it.
@@pooby887 Yeah I get what you mean. I feel Farshore is better in that regard!
@@Simoneister good to know. I’ll have to give it a shot
Not just points but VICTORY points
Thanks for this review! Everdell is my favorite board game, and you introduced me to it. Looking forward to this one, but I'd like to play this with base Everdell.
Frosthaven box menacingly sulks in the background :D
I'm the kind of person that hears "nobody watches the board game reviews" and then goes and looks at the most recent board game review and then types a comment
It might take me a few goes to fully grasp this one, but I reckon I could come to enjoy it in time.
Love this game! Glad to see you enjoyed this!
Thanks for interesting and useful video as always ❤❤❤
Thanks for the review, cheers
he hates the lighthouse that he didn't even mention it again, lol.
Zer will be NO DICE REQUIRED for zis phase.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This one is just way too expensive for being Everdell 1.5. I'll get it when the price comes down to merely $50-60
You are right, it is kinda strange the price point is that high, are there that many more components compared to base Everdell?
Not just points but victory points
As a huge fan of Everdell, this one feels interesting, but the price (over $90 where I live) is rather discouraging for what is essentially a remix of a game I already have.
Remember rocket jump
Very Nice 🖤🖤
I am up next 🎉to
Day 1 of asking to review Godzilla: Tokyo Clash
Pretty sure I can predict he won't be a fan of the trophy and exhaust system, will feel like generating energy feels arbitrary, but would give credit for the component quality and asymmetric decks relative to the price point. Only Recommend for diehard Godzilla fans
i like potatoes
Big Everdell fan, but was very disappointed by this game. Feels way too watered down. Would've preferred another base game expansion.
