I am an elder teen who never had a sibling. However, when I am the first person in an elevator, and there is another stranger in the elevator, I ask them for their floor and I press the button for them as well as for my floor. This is my way of looking like a mature and polite teenager, while I am mostly still enjoying the childish entertainment of pushing the elevator button.

i think kids like pushing the button because it is a very easy way to control something in the real world that helps them do something to get on with their day but doesnt have huge complications or consequences if they do something wrong or make a mistake. it is just a button that takes them to a floor or get across the street so no bad can come from pushing the button unless it is broken. and it has the power to help the whole family so it may make them feel as though they have done something kinda important but not too important to stress them out

I’ve never been so glad that I’ve thrown up in my life

    • @samcantorcan2246
      @samcantorcan2246 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

I'm 5'3" and stopped at that height when I was in middle school. My brother is 6'1". He was always trapped in the backseat because my motion sickness was so bad even driving through town would set it off.
My mom had this tiny Toyota even with the seat pulled up he looked like this cramped sardine. Oh he used to kick my seat or put knees against the back and push. He used to start cruising when he had to get in, but he never outright argued about it. When you throw up on someone multiple times they learn that you're not faking it.
He lives a long ways away so we don't see each other that often, but when we do, if I'm not driving, he'll even regulate his wife to the backseat. She gave him this look the first time he kicked her to the backseat and he just told her vomit would happen, everywhere, with startling accuracy to hit him on the face and he'd rather not be any more scarred for life than he was already.

I am the thought I was going to die person 😹😹😹 The walking roadside as protection bit reminded me of when I lived in N.Ireland, we had a bomb scare, the item was literally outside my bedroom wall, well PNSI came to evacuate, & walking me out he says I'll walk this side (side of possible bomb) in case it goes off it'll hit me, I thought this close & we both pate mate 😹😹😹 turns out was just some kid trying to disrupt exams as it was school grounds the other side of my wall

My kids will have freaking ninja wars for the elevator buttons. We have ONE elevator in our town. The competition gets REAL when we happen to use it.

In America we are encouraged not to let our kids sit up front until they reach 110 pounds as that is the weight usually needed to safely handle if the air bags go off it seems.

I once got in a lift and pressed the button. A mother and her son were also getting in and the boy said to her with "He didn't let me press the button".... forget for a second, all the parenting going on there with the sense of entitlement and his learned reaction of someone else having "done" something to him and the mild rudeness he displayed in making assumption and not asking if he could & then expressing it out loud. That all went through my head in a flash ) ...I turned and said quite clearly and with friendly clarity "Oh I love pressing the button too"

As the eldest sibling, I will admit that all of that is true. But then I got lazy and tired of it and now it's just funny to see my younger siblings squabble over miniscule stuff.
And when I want the front seat (which I still do and I will hang on to that right 'till I die), I claim 'seniority rules' >:D

  • @user-jt1jv8vl9r

My dad negated our enthusiasm for sitting in the front on long car journeys as that person was then responsible for reading the map and directing the journey; of which a mistake would result in dad shouting at us. We preferred to sit in the back than have dad shout at us if we took a wrong turn/missed one. The anxiety wasn't worth sitting in the front for.

Once my mum asked me to hold my little sister ( age 2) while she was upstairs.
She got angry and tried to escape by leaning forward.
When she failed, she basically sling-shotted herself back at me and her head hit my mouth like a rock.
She bust my lip and knocked out a tooth that wasn't even ready to come out.
    😒.😦.😣.😬.😁 ----------- my sister's mood escalation.

I realise I can't remember what the strong need to sit in the front of the car was for. What was the gratification lololol. Just can't remember. Now I'm just happy to sit anywhere in the car, where I can sleep and zone out. (I don't drive)
But I'm an older sibling so I got to sit in the front more than my sis then, but boy did we have those moments...or fights for the front seat. Especially if you decided to be a thrill seeker and ignore the words "SHOT GUN!". Man , real drama lol, my sis would go insane.
You know you're a grown up when as you're typing this all that's going through your head is "Poor mum!"

I never got to sit in the front lol
    I always got
She's older, she's more experienced in life, she gets to sit in the front
So I'd just be on me own, in the back
Then now, at 15 years of age, I still sit in the back while my sister sits in the front, and when she's not going somewhere with us, I'll sit in the back, and I'll get:
Why don't you sit in the front?
    It's just my natural instinct
See, my sister was like the child every first time parent expects, and I was the one every parent tells you about, so I was just thrown in the back to give everyone some peace 😂😂
