Little known fact: in Japan, it is legally required that every genre of speculative fiction should be explored through the medium of horny high school drama
I wouldn’t be so extreme, but I do believe that a lot of Japanese media (at least the one that becomes popular in the West) like anime and Persona games try to cater to every single demographic, kinda like Marvel movies: it’s a little bit funny, and a little bit scary, and a little bit drama, to reach the biggest possible audience
The only mystery i stumbled on in highschool was the gay porn ring being run through the Video Production class that the Principal and Teacher were almost to point of being accessories trying to make sure never got discovered while they shut it down. Much like a Japanese horror movie I stumbled upon the whole mess because i picked up an unlabeled black VHS tape i found behind a filing cabinet in the studio. No fish demons though there was a creepy headless mannequin
...gay porn ring? I certainly hope you don't mean they were *making* gay porn, because most students in school are not of legal age to be doing porn. That would be a *child* porn ring, which covering up would get every one even remotely involved a shit-load of jail time and fines.
@@Lucifronz the people involved were seniors and legal age but barely and yes that’s exactly what they were doing hence the principal and teacher for the video class keeping it quite at all costs because if it had gotten out, the school and the students and faculty would have a huge stigma on them….and let’s just say rich and famous people’s kids went to the school. The irony is the only reason they could hush it up was everyone involved was of legal age and the reason for that was they intended and apparently had been selling the videos for a while and wanted to make it a business. It was the late 90’s so the porn boom was happening. I never learned who all was involved after all I only knew because I found one single blank vhs tape behind a filing cabinet at the school studio. I got the rest of the story under duress when I brought it to the attention of the principal who I had a good relationship before. I was mostly trying not to laugh at the weird Hollywood level absurdity of the whole thing. Fiction is strange but I have found life to be stranger
@celestialnull first and foremost i had no proof as the principal took the tape and i didnt know the students they had graduated already so it wasnt like i could give names. It would be my word that any thing had taken place. If i really wanted i could go through past yearbooks but to what end? Theres no guarantee i could Id them and what if i got it wrong? I even looked up the laws at the time and legally they didnt do anything wrong unless they had tried to sell the tapes (and i have no idea if they did or not) since everyone was an adult the only punishment they could get would be have been through the school and they left already. I think it was stupid to do what they did on school grounds but since no one was a minor i honestly didnt care. Most teens have worse stuff on their own phones which IS technically illegal even if its selfies. All i could do is bring trouble on my self and the school which helps no one. As to what they are doing now? Onlyfans or something like it would be my guess since the 3 of them only filmed themselves... well theyed be in their late 40's at this point so maybe they started one of those websites.
@celestialnull I’m not dropping the name since it’s been almost 30 years and no one who worked there then works there now. I’ll just say it’s in the Bible Belt in a small town so it would have been talked about for years like it just happened and I’m sure most of the faculty would have been forced to quit just from the parental outrage. It wouldn’t be about logic or law. I mean when the movie the ring came out I couldnt watch it without laughing because I couldn’t stop thinking of the parallels. Or the scary movies for that matter. I find an unlabeled vhs tape behind a desk and filing cabinet while looking for a blank tape to record a report about Ghandi onto. I can even hear the narrator speaking “no one speaks about it, no one wants to acknowledge it exists and nothing is ever the same. “ it’s insane and stupid and funny as hell because it’s already movie plot material that no one would believe. I’ve no clue what you’re picturing but it was more scripted scene with an actual pizza delivery guy with cheesy dialogue like a thousand other 80’s porn scenes on phub.

I always watch you videos on my morning commute. For some reason it's very pleasant to listen to you in the morning.
you make videos that I watch three times, a few I have watched four times. no other content creator has this affect on me.
I think you may be one of my favorite people and I don't even know you. Does that speak more to the quality of your content or the depths of my neurosis 🤔 Either way, keep up the great work you absolute legend.
I was waiting for you to read out the "Alex, Alex, Alex, Alex, Alex, Alex" patron and it wasn't there-guess that guy bowed out. Maybe he got tired of you not remembering his name.
The random insane chatter in the beginning, during and after your videos are why I keep coming back.
Damn it, I was looking forward to a nice long Grimby video but I'm gonna have to go play this game before I can watch past the spoilers section.
New to the channel and just wanted to say I love your videos! Have been laughing out loud at all the skits & jokes, I would NEVER skip them.
Polished professional fun minimal new intro. Well done.
I'll miss the lofi edgy previous iterations. I understand the direction taken .
this is an awesome choice for a video, i love obscure old games like this. fantastic vid as always
No video this month :(
i fuckin love it when you review these obscure titles that i never would have heard of otherwise.
New sub here.
Your content is wildly entertaining and I appreciate how bingeable it has been!
Thanks!!!
Only TH-cam channel I actively wait for an upload from. And only channel I feel disappointment when they don't.
So happy to have stumbled upon your channel, you are really rather good
It is alway good to have para-pug, Chad and Grim on screen. Their interactions and the content of this video has added a happy palor to my day. Thank you Day, Thank you Grim. ❤️
Oh, a new intro! God I love your channel Grim!
I love that Grimbeard covers the most obscure stuff.
Yo! New intro!
Glad things are still moving along Grim.
That 311/911 joke was actually genius and hilarious. He's evolving.
Amber is the color of his energy now 😂
Investigate 311!
He's gonna have to download all references up until 9/11 and then be really confused about the "jet fuel doesn't melt steel beams" memes.
I always watch the whole video the GRIM LORE is some of my favorite parts. Thanks for making videos I always enjoy them.
I know you put out nearly flawless content monthly, but I’m starting to scratch at myself each time I open TH-cam and you haven’t uploaded anything. No rush!
Hell yeah bringing us a new intro I’m here for it!

You are truly the best in the longform review game RN
We love you GB!
Dvdhsusvd man you have no idea how much seeing a new grimbeard video makes my day every single time. Just got off work, tired af but gotta work on some art, and here's my favorite guy right at the top of my feed😭💕
Always a blast to see you covering old oddity games. Always a treat. :) Maybe you should cover the badly-received Nancy Drew game set in Salem next? I have been a lifelong Her fan, and since you covered their first game, I'd be curious to see you cover their most contriversial one.
Pog upload for the last hour of my shift tonight
Edit: Holy shit new intro
Grim really does have a 10/10 old timey cop voice.
Pleased to see a new upload that is all nothing more and nothing less
The new intro is sick af
Yo this new intro slaps, love u grim keep ‘em coming ❤
I'm surprised you haven't shown up in a super eye patch wolf "my favorite things" video
From one tired as a personality guy to another holy heck are you forever seeming chill and charming
Your video game breakdowns are beautifully executed but I'll be real with ya
The "filler" bits are true gems. I'd watch 30 minutes straight of Desk POV in a heartbeat
Holy Shit?! New Intro as well?! You're spoiling us!
Please don't retire Please don't retire Please don't retire Please don't retire
Great intro song, I found the previous one to be super grating when I was watching your vids to fall asleep to
