In this episode of Dan Escapes I tryout the Quadlock Tripod/selfie stick to see if it is worth picking up yourself. I go through the Pros and Cons and give my honest opinion on whether or not you should pick up this tripod to vlog with your phone.

Hi there, thanks for the review, I found it very useful. I'm a big quad lock user as well. I've been thinking about getting one but I do believe it's overpriced and after watching your review I have no doubts, I won't be getting one unless the price drops a lot. I have the camera tripod screw adaptor which I use to attach the phone to a flexible legs tripod and I'll stick to that for now, it's way bigger but that's the only con I can think of. Thanks again!
If you have that system already I’d say still with that. More versatile being able to put on larger tripods. This is handy if you want to travel with a small package but equally you can buy a small tripod.

Nicely done ✅ … Big Quadlock user here from motorcycling, but it’s evolved for me over the years. Now have it in both cars, both motorcycles, office desk, mountainbikes, Zwift set up. It’s a QL world I’m in. I just ordered this today to help in a series of videos we’re doing. I think for the cost it will work out to be pretty good value. It’s not sold as a gimble but combining with a late model iPhone (Sept?) with some anti footage shake properties it should be okay. I use separate audio generally too.
It’s great that the QL system works in multiple situations. After this video I found that the inbody stabilisation ob the wide angle lens isn’t great. When paired with main lens and sensor it works a lot better. But agreed audio is better recorded separately. What do you use to record sound?
@@DanEscapes we use Rode Wireless GO2. DJI also have a similar quality set up. Both decent. If it’s just a sole user, you can get individual transmitters with Rode.
Very helpful video. Hopefully Quadlock is improving the disadvantages.

I want them to release a longer rod so you can film standing content.
That would be very good, limited to low shots with this unless you find a wall
They make a tripod adapter. So if you have regular tripod. You can screw the adapter on the tripod.
Does this have a button for when you want to take a selfie with or without it extended?
Unfortunately it does not, would be a great feature. I’m sure you could find an external Bluetooth button to stick to it.
Is their a button to take photos or so users need to set it to timer mode?
Unfortunately no button, you will need to set a timer.
