    A quality video of a type I wish more people would do. Beginner and intermediate woodworkers have been left in the dust by an overwhelming sense that we don't watch videos. The guys that used to do them are oo busy selling the 5 new tools I didn't know (or care) about. So, thank you for doing this video.

    Great video! As a not beginner but not experienced woodworker myself, I love seeing you run into the same roadblocks I do throughout a project. i.e. cutting into the workbench, waffleing on design choices, and having friends that are bad at math. Keep up the great content!

      It's an expanding clamp setup sold by Izzy Swan, but it appears to be sold out. Woodpeckers sells one based on his design, but it's $130.

    Great that you incorporate all the pitfalls that are not just rookie mistakes, but are even ones a skilled person might make in a last-minute rush! Sometimes these little things can be discouraging setbacks, much nicer to avoid them!

    I used the same epoxy to inset identical magnets into my fireplace mantle top to aid the Christmas stocking holders. 👍🏼

    5:08 I have done almost that exact same bench damage.
    8:05 I have that same tub of wax. I am 47. I believe I will still have it when I'm 77 (assuming I make it that far).
    16:37 I build a sort of floating shelf (almost) style step that cats can use to walk up the side of a wall like a series of steps. I frame up the step with a similar dimension of wood with mitered corners. I most definitely sneak up on that cut.
    Right. Back to the shop to build more cat trees.

    I did the exact same thing to my Saw Stop, same exact cause. Hard to figure out at first as my hands were nowhere near the blade. But, that fresh, shiny little gouge gave it away after some looking around.

      I am trying to find that exact same answer right now, but I can't figure it out. No combination of words is giving me a good Google result. They are Jorgensen clamps but it doesn't look like anything Jorgensen sells.

    Great fun vid, mate!
    One small thing I'd add about cutting the curves - I always cut mine into 6mm ply first, then use that as a template to route the curve onto the actual workpiece. It's just so much easier to sand the ply to the final shape.
    If it needs to look symetrical I'll just make half the curve, then mirror that to create the full template.
    It may sound like more steps but it's less work overall - especially if you're making multiples. Plus, if you mess it up, you can just make a new template - you haven't trashed your actual workpiece.
    I know this is far from revolutionary and loads of people do it this way. Just thought I'd share it for more beginner woodworkers.

    My grandfather taught me to keep a basic bar of soap handy when assembling. Drag a screw tip across the soap and it slides right into the workpiece.
