The funny thing is the baby 390 Duke gets revised styling, including the Super Duke Headlights and an Updated TFT, and still the 790 is using the same old design and parts
More funny is all those problems with 890 were not mentioned when it was reviewed. Interesting isn't it. whenever new bike comes out you find out that old one has tons of problems and you really should buy new one. Interesting. Its similar with the car reviewers. I wonder if its going to be as faulty as 890 to the point KTM admitted engine was faulty from factory.
So whats really the difference between the 2023 model and 2024? They have 2023 models on sale right now. I am in states however just trying to see if theres anything different on 24s
KTM has the habit of letting it's customers do their testing and development. Whether the bikes are made Austria or China KTM waiting for customers complaints to routinely find the weak points instead of rigorously testing for it themselves. Eventually after a few model years the bikes get sorted.
Loved my original 105hp 790 duke. I sure this is just as good despite being slightly down on power. What is definitely not needed is seeing toady in a hot tub 🤮
I have a Duke 390 and still loving it but I am shopping around for what my next bike will be. The 890 Duke looks amazing but is it worth the price premium over the 790 for a Intermediate level rider? I definitely wont be able to use all of the 790 let alone the 890 but perhaps the 890 will be better to grow into? I really don't know. Also now that the 990 is here, it sounds like the 890 is no longer which is a real shame. We don't need more litre bikes.
Yes, 890 is going to be shelved now. The 990 is supposedly a "light" SuperDuke, and the 790 is reintroduced as the new middleweight ktm. All this is to solve the decision dilemma between 790,890,990 which are too close together. Now the 390, 790, 990, 1290 (1390?) are/will be sort of evenly spaced out.
Fun fact: they were also working on a 490 twin in 2022-23, which according to some reports has now been shelved in the research phase itself. Thankfully.
What about heat? Off the engine. Maybe too cool up on Wales to notice? I read a "owner" review recently and the guy said the one surprise was the heat that the little engine put off. I now Ducks are famous for their engine heat. I'm guessing since this twin puts out a fair amount of hp per cc, high compression ratio, etc, it gets good and hot.
Sounds like a great bike. If I were looking for such a bike I'd still be put off by the move to cheap labor in an oppressive country. It's simplistic to compartmentalize and ignore the larger questions at stake, for me anyway. Unfortunately, it looks like all motorcycle manufacturing is going (has gone) this direction. Guess I'll save my $$ and stick with my old bike. 🤙
"Made in China".....what a shame. That was all I needed to hear to know I will not be purchasing one. In addition to the ethical considerations of buying anything made in China, I need to have an extreme level of trust in the quality of a product that could quite easily kill me.....trust that I do not have in Chinese manufacturing.
I’m sorry, that’s a huge generalisation. I’ve had countless Chinese made Apple products. Not one malfunction. It’s not where it’s made, but WHO makes it. This is built by the KTM/CF Moto partnership. Now CF have made huge strides in build quality, and you’ll notice the Austrian made KTM’s are not exactly renowned for having solid reliability. KTM oversee the manufacturing in that factory. So if anyone is going to drop the ball here, it’ll be the Austrians overseeing the production.
Also. Ethical? You can apply that to many countries. Most Nike gear is made in Bangladeshi sweat shops. German made? Well let’s refer to WWII. America? Very high gun related deaths, and the repression of minorities. UK made? Brexit because they didn’t want Europeans working in their country. Japan? Other Asians are third class citizens in their country. No country can have a holier then thou attitude.

Probably for the best. The Duke 390 is ugly as hell.
Because the 790 is beautiful
Built for a cost :D if I wanted heated seats, I'll buy a Cadillac
TFT and menu system. Only thing I would like them to upgrade. Rest is perfect; weight to power ratio superb. Lighter always better..

The bike by the hot tub has bar end mirrors but the bike Toad was driving on the road doesn’t. What’s going on there?

I've done over 2k miles on my 23 reg 790 and with average riding it struggles to get 140-150 miles from a tank
Same. I’m sure if I pussyfoot the 790 I’d get better mileage but…..
@DiZZoLabs They definitely ride better at speed though
Idk how you guys are riding..I ride the bike almost everyday..I always get 65 to 72 mpg easily..
Where did you get the mirrors?
Great video and great edit!

Hopefully the quality is better than the from the Austrian factory.
I love kTm, just put a down paymnt on the 24- 390Duke😁.
It's mine now!

Bike: Lovely
Location: even more lovely
I wish the bike wasn't so expensive where i live (13,000 USD). For the same price, you could buy a 1290 r from 2018
I just got one for 8200€ brand new . Lucky
a 790 only $6,900 US Doll hairs in the US , for $12,000 that would be an 2023 890R in the US

You have a lot of specs wrong
So its not a better build quality now China are building it? That's a shame.
But it's not just any company, it's CFmoto
Bollocks. My Apple products have been faultless. Stop generalising. Who makes it is far more important.
Austrian made KTM’s don’t exactly have a solid rep for reliability 😂
@@martyn_g Apple products faultless, now we know you are talking rubbish 😂😂🤣🤣 (Joke!)
KTM engines had been made in China for years now, in fact the Austrian built components ( suspension, electorincs) for KTM are the problematic ones :D
What 7-8000 pounds? Why is it in my country 11k, wtf.
It was all ok... until I saw the rubber duck
890R is 121 bhp 26bhp more..
Lost me at hot tub.

Cry more, rightful poor !
My guy the entire planet's industrial production is done in China you might want to change planets to avoid the Chinese 😂
Weirdo
790! Poor person duke?! Im over here wishing for a 390 😂😂
Dude, speak English. WTF is a newton meter?
Build in China because child labor 😅
Dont be making comments that are absolutely untrue....Opinions are like Assholes..Everyone has one..Keep your bullshit to yourself.
