    Thx for doing this. I just finished changing strings for the first time in decades. Took about an hour and a half, but by the last string I had it down to 12 minutes. Not bad for a Senior with stiff fingers!

      Awesome. It gets faster the more you do it. Changing strings is not one of my favorites things to do either. 😂

    Yes, very helpful, more like this welcomed! Fortunately haven't had to change strings yet, but I"m sure it will be needed at some point.

    I was unsure how to tie it to the bridge. Could you make a video about the actual knot? I found somewhere that recommended a figure-8 knot. Is that what you used? Also wondering why you’d take the bead off the string. It seems easier than tying it to the bridge. Are there drawbacks to beads or is it just tradition/preference?

    My wife has subscribed to Terry's Ukelikethepros platinum lessons and love them. I am a guitar player but became interested in Ukuleles and have also started learning. The reason for my message is the strings on Terry's ukulele in the video seems to have large diameter strings. Anyone have any idea what they could be? Thanks

    Thanks for all this great content. What are your favorite low G strings on a KoAloha (Opio) tenor? These Pepe Romero's?

    One of my ukuleles has a through bridge. And it took me around 45 minutes to change all four. Was a little tricky.
    Would have been faster if I had a tuning peg winder :)

    Excellent video, informative and short. Thanks for your effort! But how do I know which new strings to buy for my Ortega Concert? Just visited your site, but I had to back off; there were hundreds and I didn't know where to start. I assume there are a few things to consider when choosing your new strings. Any video about that?

    Hi Terry I broke the low A string on my 6 string tenor and due to covid I'm afraid I have to try to change it myself just wondering if there is any additional info I need to know before I make my attempt 😬 thanks

    I have 3 tenor ukuleles, would it make a difference if I installed concert strings on a tenor, like changing 10 to 9 gauge on a guitar?

    Question...the replacement string pack comes with all 4 strings. How do I know which one is which?!

    • @slaydonk
      @slaydonk 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm surprised no one answered this. The strings are almost always labeled with colored stickers. Or each string comes separate in its own labeled paper bag.

    I don't think he means you can change all four strings in five minutes, but five minutes for each string. If you do it too fast you can end up with problems you didn't have before you changed them. Besides, why is everybody in such a hurry? Changing strings is part of the process of being a player. Slow down and enjoy the process.
