What a wonderful man. His compositions were magical. My growing up years were filled with his music and our larger family had some great bonding experiences singing along to his songs around the piano. R.I.P. Burt Bacharach. The epitome of cool and class.
A giant! Burt is a true genius and his wonderful body of work speaks for itself as one of the best and most enduring collection of songs not only of the period from the 1960s to the 1980s, but of the whole 20th century. I've been listening to them and enjoying them immensely for more than 50 years and hope to do so for many more to come. May his memory be a blessing.
His work has made an indelible mark in the music so many of us have listened to and will continue to listen to for many years to come. His work has brought joy to many millions of individuals. One of the best composers of modern times. Thank You Mr. Bacharach for your many hours of work!
I grew up with listening to his songs......Dionne Warwick is a favorite of mine.....he was soooo darn talented....noone like him anymore...rest in peace Mr. Bacharach....your fans will miss you.
He had a long beautiful and successful life.. Dion Warrick is a reminder off the great Burt Bacharach... I do believe that his soul will rest peacefully 🙏
What a great composer and performer he was. RIP, Burt, you look great still at 94, and who can forget Butch Cassidy and Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head?
😰 I have loved his music ever since I was a little kid in the 60s. He was a beautiful man, and he wrote so many beautiful ballads and love songs. Lucky Heaven; he's wowing the crowds for sure. Rest in Peace, beautiful, beautiful Burt Bacharach. 💐🙏🏽
This leaves out a significant part of his career: musical director for the legendary Marlene Dietrich and his superb arrangement of Where All the Flowers gone. Look it up. It's outstanding.
I didn't take piano lessons or go to music schools. I listened to Burt Bacharach. His songs still inspire me today to play piano and sing. Thank you Burt Bacharach for so many beautiful songs.🎶🙏 RIP
Another musical legend has left us. But left us he has with so many of his brilliant compositions. Music of the 60s and 70s and iconic films would never have been as good without him. A great life lived and condolences to his family. Rest easy sir.
Bacharach David were always labelled "Easy Listening",but their songs were anything but easy:beautiful, musically complex masterpieces, somewhere between heaven and heartbreak-just listen to "Walk On By" and try not to cry and as writers, they were up there with Lennon McCartney.
@@yvonneplant9434 Warwick was a great talent, but she wasn't the only one to benefit from Bacharach's writing skills. Close to you went to the top for the Carpenter's with Dionne's touching the song.
@@yvonneplant9434 She was wonderful but that is not entirely true. And Aretha Franklin's version of ‘Say a Little Prayer’ was superior to Dionne Warwick's. Burt even inferred it. Bacharach also had many hits Dionne Warwick was not involved in.
I cried when I heard this news today. His music was my mother's favorite and many of his songs were the soundtrack for the '60's-early '70's. She passed away when I was a teenager. I was listening to his album "Reach Out" just last week, as I did from time-to-time, because it gave me a sense of comfort with memories of listening to it in childhood with her. Thank you for the beautiful music Burt. :-)
Michael kudos to you and all the young people with good taste in music. I guess you can consider me a "super" fan. As a woman of color I was happy he chose Dionne Warwick as his muse. His music will live on forever. Perhaps he can play for your mother (and mine) 😭💔 in heaven.
I am shedding tears as this has been the music of my life! I also purchased the "Reach Out" album (my 1st album of Burt's) and was fortunate to see him at the Hollywood Bowl and other venues that were sold out. It feels as though a part of me has died as I reflect on this iconic composer along with lyricists Hal David. Peace be with all and especially Burt as we remember this great loss of a musical genius.
@@aurorealis3249 I saw him about four years ago and cried off and on probably knowing it would be the last concert I would see as I couldn't afford to travel to London to see him. Oh well his music will live on at least we have that..🤗

Burt Freeman Bacharach - Gone but never forgotten! The incomparable and iconic composer of the 20th century. Born: May 12, 1928, Kansas City, Missouri, U.S. Died: February 08, 2023, Los Angeles, California, U.S. Education: McGill University, Mannes School of Music, Music Academy of the West. God Bless you Burt. May all the angels in heaven sing for you!!!
All his working life he composed now he will decompose in peaceful sleep but his legacy will live on forever. Some of the greatest music of last 50+ years...... RIP Burt you will be missed .
Some couples are made in heaven Burt and Hal David were probably the finest example - now they can be reunited finally - Bacharach's celestial melodies will last eternally Thanks for having been on this planet dear Burt ❤
A brilliant and prolific composer now belongs to the ages. I was blessed with a 60 year career as a studio singer and my most treasured accomplishment was providing the singing voice for Liv Ullmann in the musical remake of Lost Horizon in the early 70s. He and Hal David wrote beautiful songs and we all had such high hopes for it. Unfortunately the movie was mercilessly panned by the critics and Burt was so disappointed. It has found a cult following however of very loyal fans. Burt was great to work for and loved my performances. Rest in Sweet Peace, you will be missed.
I’m in my mid 60s and not a day goes by where I don’t listen to some of his songs. Yesterday as I was stuck in traffic in Long Island, I was listening to the casino Royale album. Sometime in the summer of the late 1960s I was on the beach in Long branch, New Jersey. I walked over the jetty to the next beach over which was part of a private high end. Hotel called the harbor island spa. As I walked along the beach, I noticed a silver haired man on the beach lounge with his beautiful blonde wife. Even at that young age, as I got a little bit closer, I realized who it was. It was Burt Bacharach, and Angie Dickinson. I went up to him and thanked him for all the wonderful music. He was shocked that someone so young even knew his music let alone would come up to him and thank him. The world has been a better place because of his music.
Burt Bacharach passed away February 8th, 2023...40 years and 4 days after Karen Carpenter went to heaven. He's greeting her right now with sprinkled moondust in his hair and golden starlight in his eyes of blue. She's smiling radiantly, as always. Weren't we so blessed to have them here!!! With all credit to Hal David.
