I'm not familiar with Springfield at all - I've been to North Dayton to Nutter Center (saw Def Leppard there in 1993), but that's pretty much it on that side of the state. I know more about the Columbus-Lancaster-Newark-Mt Vernon areas because those are the places I was near when I lived in Ohio. Loved that McCalls patterns cabinet - I'm looking for a vintage wood or metal cabinet to store CDs in, and that looks like it might have fit the bill, and it might have actually fit in here, LOL! Great stuff, my friend!

The little signs @ 34:51 are license plate toppers (1940 - 1960s approx). Vintage car restorers started the tread for that finishing touch and have gone crazy $$$ now with the advertising collectors.
That’s what I though when she pointed out the dinosaur one for the Oregon coast, then the one for Seaside Oregon….those would have been put on with license plates. Later it would have been the paper ones like the Sea Lion Caves and Redwood Forest. At least here on the west coast.
Oh Katie...of all the wonderful items you have shown us...I LOVED, LOVED the thread cabinet with the glass handles. I have this style of cabinet on my wish list. Someday I will find one as spectacular as that one is!

Large “ magnified pieces “ look like they may be lenses for movie cameras/ projectors, or large cameras. Just a guess. Loved hearing the excitement in your voice as you explored. What a wonderful playground and brooch heaven. 😎

We had a Sanitary Bakery in South San Francisco California. We were always puzzled by the name as kids. They made the best Dutch crunch rolls.
