Thank you Julian and Boni for best episode, I am 4th year honors degree in software engineering and i have realized how skilled i am today after watching this video. I have about three years using linux(since i started coding and i even forgot how to use windows 🤣🤣), have basic DevOps, cyber-security with competition certificate, and best in spring boot, web-full-stack-developer and best and coding, functional programming and I am looking for internship to put my work which is hard to find. And I am still learning cloud computing now. thank you
🎉I got a lot of information here even what l wanted to ask. Thank you Julian and miss boni. I will keep you posted too one day as l will start my journey next year
Loving the work my sister. I'm an aspiring data analyst, self-taught, therefore I would like you to interview one. especially those who just got in the industry. Thank you.
@@liferesetwithboni looking forward to this, I have background in accounting and looking to switch to either data science or data analysis. I have completed Google Data science open course.
@ThabisoRatlou cool, there is another one as well , they have a simular background like you,a diploma on something totally different. She is also coming!
I studied accounting and realised I hate it 💔 I’m going for a career change in tech but I don’t know how to go about it. As someone who knows NOTHING about IT, I need mentorship and direction. If anyone is willing, please assist. Which bootcamp should i join ? Which certification should I start with? How many certifications do I need? I am clueless and in need of mentorship.
@liferesetwithboni with your next guest can you please ask them whether it is better to learn Windows command prompt/Powershell or to learn Linux? I've having trouble in deciding which one to learn.
Both. Definitely both. Server side - Linux will remain king. Client side - Windows. But if you’re asking as which would be more beneficial between the two I’d argue Linux. Unless you’re in some windows only environment.
I will do both then, but I'll start with CMD because I have a Window OS. I do have the Windows Subsystem for Linux in Ubuntu but I think learning my own OS' command prompt first is the proper way to go. Thank you for the reply@@juliankriel599 Looking forward to the your next visit in the channel.
The skillset is transferable, I'd also say your background is key. If you have a Windows background, working with On-Prem infrastructure, I'd say start with Azure, you'd easily relate. If you're new to cloud, then just go straight for AWS. I also find AWS to be lighter, although it is a very mature cloud offering. Also, private corporations prefer AWS to Azure, while govt departments would go for Azure in most cases, there's a business justification behind that. Nonetheless, all cloud platforms are great, including Google Cloud. Just take one that is a low hanging fruit for you.
100% transferable as mentioned by others. What I’ve found is they will all have their ways of deploying code, getting a server up. Personally if you’re asking for a choice I’d opt for AWS simply because I’ve seen it more than Azure.
hi, quite a very interesting interview enriched with knowledge. So i have a software engineering degree and a computer science degree, I've tried to create a resume but i haven't had luck in getting an interview. my question is, do i still need the A+/N+ certificates to prove anything or I'm well geared up as i am. any other certification I need?
@@liferesetwithboni Sis I went to WeThinkCode_ so I had projects by the time I was done, hence I didn't struggle securing an internship. Some of my uni friends struggled because they concentrated on school work and didn't build portfolios showcasing their projects.

Mate that really depends on the individual you’re interviewing with. I’ve worked at places where the CTO had neck tattoos. Another had a manager who was against it and asked me to where long sleeves. But for me personally I haven’t had any issues. As long as it’s not something wild across your face you should be okay
If you don’t have them, don’t get them. Generally, it shouldn’t be a problem if you want to just be an engineer. The company can keep you at that level if you don’t want to be a publicly exposed senior manager. It works in your favour if you just prefer to be overemployed as most senior management can’t do OE like an engineer could. If you want to get to managerial level with external B2B engagements, it’ll be an absolute NO!
