Good that someone has finally said it about the degree and no degree issue because I was attacked on this platform for telling the truth. I will repeat , a certification can get you an IT job but don't go around rubbishing people with a degree , it still needed by over 80% employers out there.

My issue with tech is that the recruitment processes, especially for those without much experience is a nightmare, but honestly most of companies are just snakes and lie about the job or their cultures.
He doesn’t actually know what he’s talking about regarding payslips and salaries. 1. They need the payslip because businesses want to pay the lowest possible price for everything. That’s how they increase profit margins. Even if the price of bread is supposed to be R20, no company would refuse an opportunity to get a loaf for R18. 2. Starting at a new company is not an increase, it’s a new role. A lot of people still manage to pull off 50-60% increases by either not providing a payslip or providing a fake one. 3. Recruiters don’t get you a higher offer. They get paid per successful placement so they are less likely to “fight” for you because they’re competing with other recruiters and need to get the placement asap
So petty though. Guys who learn through certifications and self study are far better . The It industry is the fastest growing regarding tech but remain in the 1800s when it comes to recruitment. I know so many people good with IT and didn’t go to some money sucking university .these recruiters and hiring managers in companies must catch a wake up. This is 2024!!!! Not 1600s
I meant they are better in terms of being in touch with REALITY and the practicalities of real workplace solutions . University teaches them outdated stuff and for years! Whereas certifications can do in far least time and money. Also the reality of our country is that most people can’t afford this business called “university” yet they have so much potential. Hiring managers is stuck in the 1600s and must get their heads out the gutter otherwise they’ll miss many gems💎 who can think out the box and actually do the work instead of just hiring “yes sir no sir 3 bags full” mediocre workers.
Hilarious , having a degree doesnt mean you cant do the certification , having both makes you better than someone with a certification only , Its logical.
That was a great interview. Thank you Boni. I got 2 recruiters who literally blue ticked me on likedin and one of them is always posting on assisting. still shoced even today
@@liferesetwithboniYou didn’t press him. Salary ranges aren’t even just market related, companies themselves also have internal ranges. Hi sis Boni, thank you so much for this!!Can you please interview someone about Microsoft certifications.I have 4 Microsoft certifications and struggling to find work/internships.I dont know if its because of my age(37). Thanks so much❤
@omphile my honest opinion , MS certifications have lost value since they changed to the Azure aligned certificates. Old certifications like MCDBA and MCSE were big achievements not these Azure certifications. In my opinion , its even better to pursue AWS certification than Microsoft nowadays.
Hi SIs' Boni, I can relate to this. I just wanted to ask if you over 35yrs of age and have a Diploma with no experience in the IT field. What other channels can I go through since internships recruit up to a certain younger age? Are there other specific jobs for us out there ?
Yeah I'll probably listen to it when I'm at work wearing earphones. It's good to have different people interviewed. Sometimes recruiters think they know the career the person is in better than those whos in the profession. I've learnt that recruiters can't tell the professionals. My issue with tech is that the recruitment processes, especially for those without much experience is a nightmare, but honestly most of companies are just snakes and lie about the job or their cultures.
Why do hiring managers like to ask you your salary expectation when they have a budget for the job?
Noted
They want to pay you less then their budget
They wanna eliminate you if you say something dumb.
They want to pay you less. I had to quit my job because I was being paid R9500 p/m in cape town @Ritesh-yy1zr
They wanna know how much you value yourself your skill. Are you confident enough to demand for your skills
He doesn’t actually know what he’s talking about regarding payslips and salaries.

I still don't undersrand the payslip issue. I feel like he might just not vouch for a higher increase as he says.
I got it eventually
