For me, the original fairy tale Snow White is a story of innocence, vulnerability, gentleness and good, triumphing over evil - despite the machinations and power of the despotic queen. It’s NOT an epic battle of might, leadership or intellect pitted against the other. It’s not the Hunger Games with a “powerful female lead”. The Rachel Zeglers of today’s world completely miss the point…and the charming, enduring and deeply moving aspect of this story. SMH

Tim Rice isn't taking into account certain roles are made for specific actors. I mean, the title of Snow White LITERALLY says Snow White which means a Latina woman shouldn't be playing her. There's even a line in the movie that says "Skin as white as snow, lips as red as the rose, hair as black as ebony". It's all very well Disney being WOKE, but what about their exclusion of the seven Dwarfs and what's so offensive about them? Are we not allowed to use the word Dwarfs now?

He was tactfully getting aroumd that. He can’t be called racist for not pointing out the obvious, but could be called one if he did. He had other points to make though, and when someone as legendary as him says that some of the stuff he himself worked on can’t hold a candle to the original and gives reasons, that carries a lot of weight.
What feminists don't understand is that fairy tales are symbolic and not literal. You don't make a fairy tale more egalitarian and pro-women by messing with the formula, you just destroy its particular language that developed over centuries, usually told by older women to younger ones as a guide to life. Making Snow White some kick-ass girl boss doesn't make her a stronger heroine, it just makes her a dead bore as well as a symbolic representative of masculinity not of femininity. But then feminists despise femininity.
A lot of feminists, myself included, are PISSED. We wanted SOME kick-ass girl boss characters, not for ALL of them to be like this. We wanted a variety from thos in charge to those working eual with men to those who do need help being rescued, to show that ALL are okay as long as there’s respect. We WANT love. We WANT this stuff too.
People seem to forget.. these are all stories they aren't real life, and trying to accustom modern 'woke' audiences really limits the imagination and creativity of what the classics are and still could be. A princess falling in love with a prince is perfectly fine, the story is meant to be a love story not a snow with action centric movie where she turns in to arnold from the movie commando. The more these companies adhere to woke culture the more damage they will do to not only the entertainment medium but society on a whole.
No, they're just pissing their own money straight down their leg. People don't need remakes. They will either just go back to the original or turn to another studio who's willing to do it right.
