- It's April of 1986. Pripyat, Ukraine. A core meltdown occurred at Reactor 4 of the Chernobyl Power Plant. Over thirty people died during the blast but the estimated death toll as a result of the radiation fallout will reach a four-digit number. This accident will be considered the world’s largest ecological disaster.
Set at ground zero of a catastrophe, this film will reveal the details of the Chernobyl event. The shocking news of the explosion at the nuclear plant has spread, as the world watched the tragedy in fear and confusion. Hearts went out to those who displayed selfless courage and integrity in the initial efforts to stabilize the reactor power.
But some were too busy being in love to notice what had just happened in nearby Chernobyl. The disaster has faded into the background...
This is an account of love and loss, bravery and supernatural stoicism in the face of unbeatable odds.

If you really want to know what happened at Chernobyl please read , Midnight I’m Chernobyl by Adam Higginbotham. He spent 10 years researching what happened that day. He talked to the survivors of control room 4 and many many others plus declassified documents. A fantastic read for anyone who like me is very interested in Chernobyl.

I’m re-reading as I write this. It’s one of the best written books I’ve read and certainly the most detailed/ accurate book on the subject.
The movie takes over three hours... I've never have three hours fly by so fast. Heartbreakingly beautiful and intense. East-European humor/way of thinking took some getting used to but I loved every minute of it. Definitely recommend watching.

It's incredible how many scenes were borrowed from here for the 2019 series. The cut through scenes are indescribably emotional - beyond even Titanic 1997. I am rewatching the last 15 minutes for the 4th time today
I am so affected by this movie. It's rare to become intimately attached to the characters in a story and having just experienced this for the past 3 hours, I know that this has now become a part of who I am, that it has changed me for the better. It was simply a work of art and skillfully presented through the full circle of the main characters. I felt for them all. Thank you. Thank you.
Bro I keep watching it over and over it’s such a good movie!!
@Timothy Blackburn It is rare that such facts can touch us so intimately.

I love the way each character was given their time and how a love story along with a disaster scene we're combined and none of the two we're in the form of a cliche.
Congrats to all the actors and producers for this creation.
yes, at times you forget there was a disaster going on, you get carried away with the storylines
This masterpiee should be seen by all !
There isn't a second too much in this 3 hour movie! I was embraced by the emotion, the play of the actors, I insist of all the actors is magnificent of simplicity and realism.
The reconstruction of the place is absolutely incredible.
Thank you again to the whole team for this heartbreaking page of history.
You deserved all the awards received!.
i agree i have never gotten this sad and crying so hard i felt there pain i couldnt imagine losing all my family members then losing my wife and we have a child and i die that would suck i loved how they gave her time at the phone booth before leaving on the bus they never rushed her either and im carious on who the real lovers are if there is one?
Amazing
Agree..
This was the worse movie about Chernobyl, the whole movie was about the couple and only 5% about the Chernobyl.
I felt the most for Alya and Pasha. Losing the one person you love to something like that is terrible and truly heartbreaking. I couldn’t comprehend losing mine to something like Chernobyl. I’d be lost.
AMEN.........
ive never cried this hard over a movie this really hit me hard i am a person that thinks in other peoples mind set just watching that i can feel the real people pain and sadness i couldnt imagine this happening to anyone else the soviets did some bad things to there soldiers to
One of the best movies ever seen. I felt the emotion and drama of the characters of those times. A love story in the center of the most tragic nuclear accident. It was expected that most of the central characters would die due to the massive doses of radiation they received. Great actors. Great interpretation. Simply beautiful. Greetings from Romania Bucovina.
I couldn’t believed the couple lived after being so close to the reactor but it was needed for the movie to continue.
Russian movies are always done so well, just as this one is.
The last part/ending was so touching and emotional.... brought tears in my eyes... !!! True Story... my heart sinks what these people have gone through....Bless those brave hearts.

Getting the feel of what happened in Chernobyl when watching this 😢😢 really loved it LOVE FROM INDIA
So I have watched the Chernobyl HBO series twice. And then happened to find this. Both of these movies tell a great story. But I love the story line in the Chernobyl Inseparable. This by far a greatly written movie and complemented the HBO quite well. The HBO definitely has more information as far as what happened to the planet leading up to the explosion, and have you more information as to what went into cleaning up and preventing the event from being worse. While the Inseparble version gives you more of what the military went thru, and the Chernobyl families, with a love twist. This was definitely worth every minute.
Wait, they blew up the planet? 😳
Okay, I know it's a typo, but I just wanted to make a silly. 😁
Good comment, btw.
HBO its best of all time
It’s good entertainment but I want information. The hbo was good but it followed the same story we’ve been given for 34 years. Angry Dyatlov pushed the reactor to explosion. I’d like an adaptation based on Dyatlov’s own accounts. That everything was calm before the explosion, that they were totally taken by surprise
Omg i littlery have the same story i watched the HBO twice then i watched kreosan and i found this chapter so im typeing this comment while watching it.
HBO series is the best of all time, it's best in every expect and those who want to watch a movie about Chernobyl want to know what happened there rather than seeing love birds
*No matter how bad the situation was Alya had her smile in her face 🥺🥺 This shows how much she was in love with the company she got.*

Yes this is a great one, but the HBO series is also good. Its an American production and I just liked some of the actors in it. Its good to watch both of them.
Expected a nuclear accident documentary/movie yet, got a WONDERFUL love story instead!
Loved it, no complaints.
This movie is so wonderful and tragic at the same time. A pure love story in times of trouble. A hidden gem! Congratulationt to these great actors!
This movie landed in my suggestions for reasons unknown.........so I watched it. Very sad, and one of the greatest movies I have ever watched. Would recommend.
Хороший фильм. Спасибо что помните о людях, отдавших свою жизнь во имя спасения других. Низкий поклон из России.
A love story beautifully woven around the real life tragedy of Chernobyl. It was quite a stretch to have to read sub tiles for over three hours but it really was worth it.
This is the most emotional film I’ve ever seen, it’s real. In America, we like to forget what it is to feel.
This is real. It shows the true meaning of being a human. Despair, lament, and terror. I’m shaken.
It's an excellent movie, incredible that from the love of Ala and Pasha survived a daughter. I was very moved by this movie.
Respect to everybody worked in this movie..RIP all victims...God bless
A touching movie, having something in common with Romeo and Juliet. So much more personal and humane than the Chernobyl series from HBO. I did enjoy that too, but from a different perspective of course.
This movie should be in the Oscars. A wonderful story about an abysmal tragedy.
The most-saddest movie I've ever seen in my life. I was studying in Moscow at this time! The biggest man-made disaster of the century.
Even today I'm filling up who the victims of the disaster!!
Let's pray for them...
There dead I know it's sad, but what's the point of praying for them? They are not suffering no more.
biggest manmade disaster in whole history
@@monsterrateh3685 They are suffering after death from not being able to see their family members so pray for them instead of being a jerk.
And I was not too far because my family from Poland decided to visit relatives in Ukraine. That wasn't without consequences on my health but I'm one of the lucky ones anyway 😢
watch the HBO`s Chernobyl, it`s a thousand times better than this contraption
Outstanding movie about love, desire and commitment during a chaotic time. I was in West Germany, serving as a Soldier, when Chernobyl blew... spent the next 20 months soaking up radiation. I feel for the Ukrainian people! Today Im 56 and suffer from thyroid issues. The damage of that day will forever continue!
Keep on keepin on! Take care of yourself-can't imagine
Wow. What a lovely movie. It's so sad what was happening in that town. Many people completely clueless and have to leave town so sudden not knowing what future become. Thank you for sharing, I love this movie very much how they present young love at the time of crisis.
Truly amazing how great it is viewing 3 hours of dedication that's ticked every box and beyond to present this outstanding movie that's been inspired from a real life disaster.
I believe this particular movie reminds us all for all the good people that sadly lost their lives due to containing the nuclear and what not.
Highly recommended movie a must watch.

I'm so affected by this movie, I cry my eyes out, it so sad, heart touching story.. Chernobyl was a wonderful place, a warm home of peapoles who lived there and now.... 😢😢😢😢😢
The best film I have ever seen. It really touched my heart.. I recommend everyone to watch it. If the story is real, I pay respect for that man who died to save another man, it doesn’t matter that both of men died, but now I know how painful it was for the soldiers who lied in the hospital, who are alive for these days. Big thank you for this film creators for creating that amazing movie. Pay respect for the men who died to save us! The most realistic film I have ever seen👍
It is real, and in Chernobyl there is nobody living at the moment , because there is a very toxic air, and the accident may happen again
Hbo is more of story this is custom made movie to see how they lived
It's based on fact but the story isn't true, Pasha and Alya are based on one of the fireman (who died) and his wife who was already pregnant (Vasilly and Lyudmilla). Their daughter didn't survive. Lyudmilla (Alya) did get into the hospital and her husband died in her arms.
@Judy G. thank you very much for telling me this ! :) I will try to keep that in mind.

Bro, right pronouce is ChOrnobyl. ChErnobyl is russian language.
We have nothing bad against the Russians, but since Chernobyl in Ukraine, the correct transliteration must be from the Ukrainian language.
@@user-ie8qf9tv9x well, in Dutch we call it Tsjernobyl, and in every documentary or movie about Chernobyl (mostly English) is spelled Chernobyl. So you want me to say Chornobyl?
@@user-ie8qf9tv9x I think you're in for an uphill battle I'm afraid, especially after the HBO series in which they call it Chernobyl, which is also the English interpretation of the word.
Good on you for having nothing against Russia. I'm not sure if I could have been so forgiving after all they put the Ukraine through, and still do...
Nederlands ja, ik heb ook gehuild echt goed
I watched the HBO series. Loved it but I always wanted to see a Russian side of what happened to maybe get all the truth. This version gives a wonderful human version.
Because this was a disaster occurring in my lifetime, I was glued to the story. 3 hrs and 10 minutes reminded me of the 10 Commandments, several breaks. Very good movies with no leading actors that are known in the USA, and all subtitles to understand their conversations. This is worth the time, pass it around, recommend it to your friends.
An emotional film about what happened there. I feel deep thankfulness to the people who worked there and gave their lives to save so much others...
