I have been using the Burton Custom X for 15 years and recently purchased the new 2025 wide version. The board is incredibly stable, but I find it difficult to replicate the "edging closer" your smoothness in my own riding. I use different setups, but here mostly Burton Ion and Union Atlas - pretty standard stuff 💪🏼
