      I’m not sure if it would work as non bulky amigurumi yarn tends to create a more round shape then a cone when started with the first couple rounds, also it is just 5 rows per point so I would imagine it would be really tiny but I could be wrong and you could have the cutest tiniest star😅 Maybe I could recommend just making one point and see if its round or cone shaped and go from there

    Waitwaitiwai... you can close a magic circle BEFORE you crochet into it!!?!? This changes everything. I must learn this because I love magic circles but I always hate the process of pulling the yarn tight and sometimes losing my first stitch.

    I had way too much yellow yarn after a different project and this was the perfect use for it! I have mostly made blankets and hats following youtube videos, I've never used a pattern or made a plushy before, it turned out so great! Very easy to follow, I love the bobby-pin for the stitch marker, I will definitely be using that from now on. I used a 9mm hook with barnat blanket yarn, and it ended up being the perfect huggable size I wanted. Thank you so much!

      thicker yarn and larger needle size but use the same pattern. shes using a size 4 needle so you can use size 8 or even 12. just find some yarn big enough for the needle

    • @crochantelle
      @crochantelle  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      a jumbo version would be so cool! as another commenter pointed out, using a heavier yarn weight, or a larger hook size can make your plushies larger! (check out my shorts for visual examples of that, i have two posts on increasing/decreasing the size of plushies)
      you can also follow my “how to crochet a cone” tutorial where i show how to make any sized cone! so, you can make larger cones for the star points, and then decrease in intervals of five like how i did in this video to close off the star! feel free to dm me on instagram if you have any more questions!

    this is such a cute design! i've already made a mini one to test it out and loved it, but i got a few large gaps when trying to connect the points for the second time around. i was wondering if there was a way to fix this by fixing which stitches i work into to make those gaps smaller?

    Thanks for making this tutorial and pattern! It was fun and easy to follow, and mine turned out great just in regular (hot pink 😄) acrylic yarn. One small thing that I did wonder about was that you referred to rows instead of rounds, although the star isn't worked flat 🤔

    • @crochantelle
      @crochantelle  หลายเดือนก่อน

      i’ve always used the two terms synonymously! i never realized that rounds were more often used in amigurumi 😂 to be fair though i start designing my own patterns quite early on when i started amigurumi so i guess i didn’t read enough patterns that had rounds used!

    wow those 6th and 7th rows where rough lol for anyone stuck on row 6, specially in the back, it’s better to manually mark the five groups of otherwise you could end up with more than 45sc

  • @laimoonar
    @laimoonar หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Hello! Not sure you'll answer this since it's been 6 months.. I followed this tutorial but made the star points bigger to make this crochet into a pillow (turned out to be 44 by 44 cm). Each of the last rows have 60 stitches in them (19 rows total), when connecting it took 30 stitches across for each two star points to connect, in total 150 (20th row). So in 21st row I should have around 145 stitches ig..?
    My question is, can i skip not 5 but 7 or 10 stitches when decreasing, so i can save some yarn? I can't really calculate how to do so, sadly😭
    So sorry if my comment sounds rude, I'm VERY grad I stumbled across this tutorial🙏🏻

    • @crochantelle
      @crochantelle  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      not rude at all!! i was actually planning on making a tutorial for a pillow sized star ⭐️ but you beat me to it lol!
      you can absolutely decrease faster, the one concern is there might be gaps between the stitches. typically in amigurumi 8 is the most to decrease by without the gaps forming. intervals of 6 goes into 150 easily but i’m not sure if that would be quick enough. have you tried decreasing yet? just curious if something is working for you yet (sorry for the late reply!)

    • @laimoonar
      @laimoonar หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      only started, so i can't say anything yet :"]
      but i calculated the number of stitches to decrease while saving yarn. as you said, 6 for 150, then 8 for 144, 136, 128, etc.. then from 40 you can decrease by 5 and 3 as in your tutorial OR continue decreasing by 8 :]
      i also had an option to make an interval of 5 for 150, 145 and 140 but it would've been too time consuming..
      i'll update on how it will turn out in a day!

      so on the backside of the star, attach your yarn to one of the unworked stitches on the back. each point should have a total of 9 unworked stitches (so they shouldn’t have any single crochets in them yet) and then just do 9sc in each point around! i hope this helps, but if you still need more help message me on instagram, @_crochantelle_ and i can send some step by step photos!
