Before ramping up with new stories in the new year, I wanted to do some in-house work and re-upload The seminal work of Cosmic Horror, "The Call of Cthulhu" By H.P. Lovecraft, in its entirety! With a bonus of a dark screen for optimal sleep comfort!

Your voice is great for this. Reminds me of an audiobook i listened to in elementary school called beyond the rainbow.
Well thank you so much. Do you remember who it was by?
@@johnssleepstories christine marion fraser. Its about two kids with cancer who meet getting cancer treatment. I had to do a project over it in like 4th grade
@@Shum-man wow! Sounds interesting. I'll definitely check it out. Thank you for the recommendation!
@ejgrass04 don't see the connection, is it the narrator
@@alba..8479 yeah its just the voice idk. Its the only audiobook i listened to and it was on something like a tape recorder.
Such a gentle subtle melodious voice can lead one to the arms of Nix.
Drawings by Lovecraft shows Cthulhu has 6-eyes in 2 triangular sets of 3 where one eye each would be.
That is an awesome description. Lovecraft's prose has always been very dream-like I thought. Which is why I tackled it as a sleep story. Thank you for listening!
I just happened upon this channel and within 5 minutes I could not help but like and subscribe here and now. I would love to hear this man read the Joseph Conrad book of short stories called Tales of Unrest. Each story has its own kind of gravity and I immediately felt the same feeling of dread and ominous certainty that whatever they try to do,they only seem to make things worth. To be clear, I'm not making a request, I'm aware that this is not a top forty radio station. What this channel does is far more worth the time. With a channel such as this, the voice doing the reading is 90% of the equation for me. I could listen to this voice read the phone book. Thanks and CHEERS!
Well thank you so much for listening and for your kind words. I"m glad you found the channel and I'll check out this recc. I've read some Conrad but not that book.
Thanks again!
Great work man. I really hope your channel takes off and you can make a living doing this. You deserve success.
Thank you for your kind words. My hope is that with more success, I'll be able to reach more people and help bring them blissful sleep :) Thank you for listening
Great work @johnssleepstories! Are you a hypnotist also? Thank you!
haha No I have no such powers. I just enjoy a good scary story. Thank you for listening!
Thank you!!
This is fantastic. Thank you.👏
Thank you so much! 💜
@@johnssleepstories You're more than welcome.
Nice, I am glad to see more readings on here. I hope your channel gets more successful
Thank you so much for your kind words.
Just found your channel. Your voice is fantastic!
Oh thank you so much! I'm glad to have you here 🙏
This is a great telling. I watched/listened to the entirety and I'm bookmarking it for future naps.
Thank you very much 🙏
What do you want to guess that part of the Kanak crew described as different was elements of the Deep Ones the Innsmouth Look would make any human seem loathsome to the unwary eye.
@@randallbesch2424 ooooooo I never thought of that before! That's a really great catch
Thx for this got my sub.
@@soldiernumberx8921 glad to have you here! 😃
Very nice
Thank you so much!
This is the best narration on youtube. I've listened to them all.. You did amazing job.. Please read the book the red lion.. Brian Scott on youtube fucked that book up but if you read it you will get million of views as people only have the option to listen to his narration of red lion but you can do so much better
I would think that Lovecraft’s The Call of Cthulhu would be more nightmare inducing than something that could help one have a sound night’s sleep,
But that’s just my opinion.
A very nice reading regardless.
I personally love throwing in a scary tale or two to my nightly listening when I'm falling asleep. And I always found Lovecraft's baroque, overly intellectualized prose to be rather dreamy and hazy. Could just be me, I don't know. Thank you for listening!
@@johnssleepstories Any chance of doing The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath? You'd probably need to split it up as it is almost four times as long as The Call of Cthulhu.
@@andrew20195 that's a good one!. And yeah it would be in multiple parts. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@johnssleepstories I am a horror minded person, and I found this video very sleep-inducing (as well as your Cosmos videos!) I'm a big fan of Darkest Dungeon, and the narrator Wayne June, and he's done a bunch of Lovecraft's stuff. It was interesting seeing your reading of this one compared to his.
@@andrew20195 Wayne June's voice is in credible! 😃
Hello John... 😳 Be gentle in thy reading... 🥺
I shall do my best. No need to worry friend.
I would be the 66th like! 🤣
It was your destiny 😂
