Rebuilding a classic nitro R/C: Mugen Seiki MTX4
See my other nitro R/C videos here: • Nitro R/C Cars - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
I remember commenting a couple of years ago about your RC's on the shelf. Great to see the occasional video on them now. Good stuff!
Awesome video. I remember drooling over these cars as a kid when we went to the local hobby store. This is motivating me to finish sorting out all of the issues with my old T-Maxx.
Oh man. I used to race 1/10 nitro and the MTX-4R was my car (after toiling for a few seasons with an Ofna LD3 and CD3). Stopped after my daughter was born, so, 13 years ago? Every so often I charge the batteries, break out the starter box, and give it a spin. Not quite as feasible now, and so much harder to get parts. Now that she is older, I may get back into something. VTC (I do have a TT-01 for electric truck racing, but have to paint the body)? 1/8GT? Electric whatever? Who knows. One thing I do know is the Mugen will never leave my collection, even if I have to make it a shelf queen
Your Content Are Awesome i Mean I like It
Nice man! When are we getting a video of this beast running?!
Once I get a transmitter for it! Hopefully here soon.
Amazing
What cleaners do you use?
What exactly was seized in the engine what beside cleaning was required to fix it? Great work.
Old fuel congealed in the crankshaft bearings and between the crankshaft and engine wall. I lubricated the pieces with automatic transmission fluid, then placed a nut on the crankshaft threads and turned it with a wrench to break it free. From there, just a good cleaning got it spinning freely again.
Nice what are you using for cleaning?
I'm using Simple Green. It's a less aggressive cleaner and rinses off with water.
What would that have cost new in 2005? Looks like a high end RC car but I don't know much about the RC hobby.
Way, way too much! The chassis would have been $450, the engine $200, the exhaust $70, the servos $120, the battery $35, and the transmitter/receiver would have been in the $300 range. $168 sounds like a deal, doesn't it! :)
@@PracticalEnthusiast Yes it does, and after the rebuild it looks mint.
no difficulties to find spare parts ??
Not yet. eBay has everything I've needed.
Couldn't even get elevator music for the background? Come on Bro lolol
I call this track "the ambiance of repair"
No music necessary. :)
F-nig Nice Greg job
