I cleared a stolen vehicle complaint in about 30 seconds once. I was in a local convenience store buying a new ink pen ( mine went dry) when I got a report of a stolen car. Dispatch was giving me the description of the vehicle when a young lady about 10 feet away yelled, "OMG that's me. Dad was asleep and I didn't want to wake him so I borrowed his car" I ID'ed her. Dispatch called the complainant and confirmed that she had permission to use the car any time. P.S. the complainant and "car thief" were the father and sister of the police chief, my boss.
Just because you live in the same house and have a license doesn't put you on a vehicle's insurance by default. The owner has to include you as an insured driver of the vehicle. HOWEVER, just because a person is listed as a driver on the insurance doesn't mean they have free reign to use that vehicle as they please. It still belongs to the person that owns it, and they can give or revoke the person's permission to drive it whenever. So she may well be on the insurance for that car, but if Dad says she's not allowed to take his truck, and she does anyway, that's stealing.
@@sherimckinney2859ok even if he did last week and put her on the insurance, that still in no way, shape, or form entitles her to be able to take it without his permission.

But if you live in the same house and drive it, unless you’re on the policy you wouldn’t be covered.
As an attorney, just because you are insured to drive a car does not mean you can drive it whenever you want, without consent from the registered owner of the vehicle. It's like if someone gives you permission to use their debit card to get $100 from the ATM - you can't then go back and get $100 whenever you want. It's clear she knew she didn't have permission based on her comments about being insured to drive the car and her dad being older and psycho. Never did she say she asked and received permission, just that she's allowed to drive it.
I was driving a car that had been reported stolen. It was quickly figured out and I was thanked for not acting a fool. Seriously, it only makes it worse and if you roll with it they’ll remember that down the road like if you were pulled over for speeding or whatever. They held the car for a day, figured out that an error in the DMVs system hadn’t been deleted and I picked it up with no charges monetary or punitive.
I was pulled over one time because my license plate matched somebody that was on the watchlist for my local sheriff precinct. When they pulled me over, I complied, and they let me go within 10 minutes. It’s amazing how if you just comply and cooperate, things end up okay
I think this one would have gone regardless of how she behaved as the dad probably told them that his daughter took the car. She could have had a less difficult time though, had she behaved like a lady rather than a swamp hog.
One thing I learned, an officer walks up, hands up, no quick movements, yes and no answers until they ask you for information. They have video. Then again, I have no tickets, no warrants, but I do have a CHP in Virginia. Hands on the wheel until they tell you otherwise. It's not difficult.
The dad is to blame. Good households don’t produce rotten fruit. What kind of dad calls the cops on their own child? Nah, the dad was likely abusive and screwed up which created her… screwed up too

I’ve got a daughter like this. Was a wonderful child, 1st hint of trouble was her stealing my mothers credit card & maxing it out before mom realized it was missing….. It broke my mothers heart, she was in the final weeks of her life when it happened & looking back it was just more than she could handle. She’s my oldest living child & knowing I’ll never be able to trust her is very hard
Your comment broke my heart Hun 😢 it also makes me realize exactly why I chose to get sober almost 7 years ago. For years I was a heavy opioid and heroin addict and at one time I stole and robbed things from my Mom, that's how bad my addiction got. I hurt my mother and broke her heart in two. She never gave up on me and remained positive. She always knew I was meant for bigger things and that I could do anything. I'm so grateful for my Mom and I don't know who I would be without her. I'm so sorry your daughter has hurt your family in such a negative way. I hope and pray that one day she'll see the error in her ways and you can rebuild your relationship 🙏🏼❤️
Stay tough but strong my friend. Stepdaughter put us through hell years ago. She has turned it around 💕. I pray yours will too. Never back down from inappropriate behavior is always inappropriate. Let her know that you love her too much to let her be this way. And remember, this is not on you, she owns the behavior. You didn’t do anything wrong.
My youngest daughter dragged us through hell with her. She still struggles with the consequences of her actions decades ago, but she found her soul again. She will always be a bit of a mess, but she's rehabilitated, and putting her life back together, quite literally, from scratch. It's so hard to watch it happen, but God give you grace, patience and strength. Be wary as a fox, wise as the owl, and strong as a rock, both for yourself and for your wayward one.🙏🙏

So, such an invalid that she can't even be touched, but can climb up into the truck, drive and carry and lift the groceries. 🤔
Idk thought them invalids can be pretty rough if you aren’t careful with them.
Exactly!! 💯
In heels!
The older cop with "she was just excited to see you!" 😂😂😂😂
Loved that line.
The Freaky Friday lady never switched bodies back. 😂
Don’t do meth kids

Do meth, just don’t steal your dad’s vehicle 😂
Methanie needs to learn her limits 😮
Interesting how they're all on "disability" when they get handcuffed...
Right?
Incarceritus
especially since it's extremely hard to get on disability -a disabled person
And yet they resist violently.
Gaslighting your dad. Pathetic.
I have a niece like that. A professional pathological liar who was pretty and clever, she spent in jail, stole money from my parents, her grandparents, and conned a bunch of guys out of money and stuff, and yet she still doesn't think she's done anything wrong. Just a criminal by nature.
The clerk, the "car thief", and I got a good chuckle out of it and I probably hold the world record for clearing a stolen car complaint. P.S. the complainant and "car thief" were the father and sister of the police chief, my boss.
Seems like the type to put him in a home for the inheritance.
I pity her pop.
Except unless he’s super rich the “home” would burn through his assets. But she might occupy his house while he’s kept there. She does act the type.
Or worse
That's not how inheritance works.
you have to give away any assets you have to get into a home. it's very expensive nowadays.
Omg she even has a Karen haircut 😂
She's a pro
? She's an addict with punk-styled hair... not a 'Karen"
no days a thin woman is either:
a druggy / doctor's wife / movie actor
She's pretty darn good so I'm thinking - movie star / druggy

Think you have to ask for 1k managers before you unlock that skin
Being "on the insurance" means that you live in the same house and are licensed to drive. Has nothing to do with ownership or access to the vehicle.
He would have had to put her on the insurance as a driver…at least in MA. 🤷🏻♀️
Don't have to be in the same house, I used to be secondary on my grandmother's Insurance for when I would take her to appointments or shopping.
@@joecope9935 but everyone in the house would not automatically be on the insurance…she had to have been specifically added as a driver.
In MA you don’t have to be on the insurance if you don’t live in the same house…you can borrow someone’s car.
It's amazing how 🥾🤪just so easily give up their rights.

I can only imagine how disappointed the dad must be that he raised this "thing".
Yeah probably has something to do with the way he was raised.
The dad is to blame. Good households don’t produce rotten fruit. What kind of dad calls the cops on their own child? Nah, the dad was likely abusive and screwed up which created her… screwed up too
I don’t get where the Dad is to blame because he called the police. It’s more likely he’s tired of her crap because she does whatever she wants and takes advantage of her father. He’s tired of her crap, it’s tough love more or less.

Be wary as a fox, wise as the owl, and strong as a rock, both for yourself and for your wayward one.🙏🙏
my brother stole our dead fathers credit card and charged $4000 to put tires and wheels on his car…our mother was crushed but didn’t have him arrested…
Was she ever punished as a kid did you ever see other signs? There must be things we can do for our children

She's unburdened by what has been
It's car theft not carjacking, the latter is taking an occupied vehicle, while the former is taking an unoccupied vehicle.
Exactly. And you'd think the former law enforcement officer running this channel would know that but evidently not.
As someone who lives in an area where carjackers went wild after the race riots, I take offense to the mislabeling. Sneaking off with your dad’s car is illegal theft of a vehicle, it’s NOT carjacking.
@scottmichaels12 the guy's just playing TH-cam titles game. People click more if the title is more exciting. "Carjacking" sounds more exciting than "car theft", people click more on that.
So I get what you're saying, but at the end of the day it's entertainment content for us, so I'm not gonna get mad at the dude for trying to play the YT game and getting a bit of extra engagement on his videos. Don't get me wrong, its still clickbait - but on outrageous clickbait scale its maybe 2/10.
