Protection makes it so that they can't be affected by DEBT (Damage, Enchanted, Blocked, Targeted) So you can't target them with grapeshot. The line that match was to get double wish to cast an empty the warrens and put a lethal amount of tokens then cast alchemist gambit to get that extra turn where damge can't be prevented and attack them with goblins. They'd usually prevent the damge with the protection, but since can't beats can the damge can't be prevented and they get killed even through The One Ring's protection
I think you're supposed to hold Ral and Ruby, until you can go off around turn 3-4, or if you have 2 rituals and 1 or 2 cantrips you can ritual, Ral/Ruby and from there storm off. Pointing this out because people are catching on and preparing for Ruby storm like that rakdos player did.
Yeah there's definitely ways I could sequence better, especially if you want to try to combo off quick with ritual into cost reducer. That Rakdos game was a wash though. Appreciate the advice!
id say that as the format has shaken out a bit more, the crown has to go to tamiyo absolutely game warping for one mana, to the point that ragavan is now obsolete in UR
7:08 you could’ve responded to solitude by casting Valakut awakening and trying to win another Ral flip. Even if you lost, you might’ve drawn into some rituals to try to flip Ral again Did you not do it for a reason or was it a slight misplay? Just asking because I plan on playing a very similar deck tomorrow in a midrange/control heavy meta. Thanks!
Yeah I should have cast it in response. Clicked too quickly and didn't think enough since we were going to cast Awakening anyway. The deck definitely rewards reps and taking your time!
Everybody always says ral needs to cast 8 spells befor he can ult right away, but doesn't he only need to cast 6?? It's two additional counters and he already enters with 2 right?
Yeah I believe that's correct. I think I said that too assuming I needed 8 for 8 loyalty, but you don't need as many for the reason you mentioned. Good catch!
I'm going to agree, as someone who doesn't play as much magic, it was hard for me to see what was happening. I could tell that you were popping off, but had no idea what you'd drawn or your mana or etc. it was only at the end of the full combo that you'd say: "basically, grapeshot, we win" or "because of this this this we couldn't make it" It made sense, but only retroactively. For me to really understand I'd probably have to rewatch each segment.
I gotcha.. appreciate your critique. It can be hard for me to know what's more commonly known info and cards vs. what may not be for newer players and I don't want to drone on about obvious things which may make the video longer and drawn out.

Yeahhhh that's what I meant to do! I blacked out there haha. Thanks for the advice!

13:22 the line is: flip Ral and plus, cast other Ral flip other Ral and minus, you're no longer 1 short!!
or what you did. Y'know, ulimate 3 Rals and profit!!!
Watching back, I kept losing the flip :( But that's a good mind set to have if you have multiple copies.
What do you guys think about MH3 so far??
I haven't seen a version with strike it rich before. How do you like it?
It felt solid. I enjoyed doing something on turn 1 and it was great when I needed to be super fast. I sided it out against more mid rangey match ups.
I know some folks were hesitant on Ral, but he's really the shining star of the flipwalkers it would seem.
Definitely! The fact that he's a cost reducer and a win con in one card makes him insane 🔥

@@crppledizzle9374 She has also begun to shine through! And now Soren making some waves too. Sad Grist haha
Red decks got SO MUCH from MH3 holly molly.
Turn2 wins getting reminds me of Channel deck before it got banned. :D
The cost reducers make this deck insane and those turn 2 kills viable 👍
This new solitare game looks amazing
Haha right?? If you want to take all the game actions and have all of the fun 👍

Why didnt he cast instants in response to removal do he could have chance to flip Ral every time in this video?
I went over it in the video 😁

What did you do with mustache Mike?
He’s incognito. Prison Mike coming out soon.
@@MikeDeVo1 is he gonna scare us straight?
👍👍👍👍
Glad you liked it!
So its litterally 0% of chance win vs discarding/removal decks?
Na.. It's a tough match up especially if they have disruption and a clock, but not impossible. These games were just bad mulls and no pressure.
Yeah fuck this kind of magic. I'm hoping we step away from Yu-Gi-Oh play style in the future
Never played YuGi-Oh, but I gotcha
you cut so much, its hard to follow
Ah sorry.. thank you for the critique. I try to have it edited so it flows well, but it may be too quick in some instances.
@@MikeDeVo1 I disagree. I think you cut trimmed the fat while preserving coherence. Prefect imho.
