My son is applying for 485 visa this week. He graduated on 29 June and his student visa expires on 6 aug. All docs are in order except for birthcertificate which was translated into English in our home country . We got it certified by a pharmacist after she viewed original cert and translation. we found in immigration website that if applying onshore must use NAATI to translate . Could you please advise . He currently has a job as casual contract undergrad engineer and waiting for 485 grant for permanent position.
    😊

      Hi @Rememena
Speaking of my experience, my birth certificate was also translated into english from a notary in India and it was accepted by DHA.
I think if you already have a english translated cert then you don't have to get it translated again from
NAATI. I think NAATI should be used in scenarios where you are on shore and your birth cert is in a different language and you need translation!
      Well that's my understanding!

      @@rememena881 Hi Rememena😊
Happy to anwer questions from my own experience.
You don't have to go through an agent for PR if your case is straight forward and you are willing to put in the effort to organise paper work.
This might save you some dollars😊
