Those with the 3.7L that find this video like I did, seemingly as no one has made a vid for the 3.7 the difference please note is you have to: 1) release the water line clips at the back firewall 2) the unplug the wiring harness from the computer and radio ground etc.. note everything's positions 1st Disconnect the other line from the coils and injectors, and the position sensor below bottom of the passenger side valve cover. When that's all off Route main harness behind the engine just past the valve cover. Now you have easier access to the back bolts they still suck but its easier. You will have to do this to be able to get the valve cover off anyways, the harness prevents you getting the clearance you need to get it out. I only did the passenger side that was leaking. Seems that seal tends to go 1st on the lower back corner because of the proximity to the heat from the catalytic converter. It lead to oil dripping on the catalytic converter and making smoke and a burning smell as it gets worse.. The other side may not need it. crankcase ventilation hose will likely be cracked and need replaced on both sides.. Good luck! Also protip: buy the victor reins set with the hard carrier to make the install so much easier.
I was watching to find out if the brake booster had to come out for the drivers side on my 04 3.7. Did the passengers valve cover few years back. New rockers and lash adjusters "lifters" on the passengers last weekend. Just unplugged the injectors, coils and position sensor for elbow room to work. Nothing else was in my way.
good video. wouldnt pressure wash an old vehicle like this. extreme purple power or similar degreaser, parts cleaner, brush, low pressure hose rinse, and a rag wipe...more work and takes longer but lower risk of wire or connector damage
Hi, i watched one of ur videos for ford edge rank nd pinion replacement, my question is do ford edge 2007 - 2013 use the same steering rank n pinion ( hydraulic)
Mine are smoking a little bit so I think its time to replce them. Same seepage you had just worse. Was smelling it a few weeks Go,now its bad enough for it to smoke when it hits the manifold.
dude you’ve saved me so much money just by watching your vids, i swapped all my front suspension and now the valve covers thanks 🙏

Having same issue is that what it was that needed replaced
Purple power or Super Clean are great cleansers!
Yes they are , thank you for watching.
Blew a hole on my valve cover driver side back side on ram 1500 4.7 2012 any advice for me
Where is the last stud fastener(the plastic piece) on the driver's side of the 2004 4.7l 1500?
Idk why. It’s saying 50521 is wrong for me & model number 50577 is the correct part for 4.7 ? You know why
I am not sure what the difference could be , the valve covers are the same from like 99-2007. Maybe an upgraded version. Thanks for the feedback.
@ thanks for replying and great video
Im wondering if it would even be safe to drive it to get the parts.
I would probably fix it before driving it , if possible. Hope all goes smoothly. Thanks for the feedback.
How long did this take you to do?
I believe I spent around 4 to 5 hours total with the cleaning and everything. Thanks for watching , much appreciated.
@s33therfan what size bolt you use for the cover to remove
👀👍🏼✔
Thank you , much appreciated as always.
