Segment from November 8 2003's SNICK On Air Dare. All That cast member Giovonnie Samuels has to eat a thousand toe nails. Huge special thanks to NCSUGrad2012 for donating his footage!
While there is no doubt many of them were real, some of them had to be faked. There is no way they made Jamie Lynnn Spears drink a gallon of human sweat. I also have my doubts about this one because toenails are sharp and would cut esophagus up.
I think some of the dares were fake but this was still an extremely horrifying time for the cast members. Bryan's peanut butter dare was entirely real and he didn't enjoy it (though he pretended he did). Jack's worm bath dare was real and according to him, the worms locked together in a way that it took a group effort to get Jack out of the tub. And Gio actually said in a panel that the liver and clam smoothie was actually a chocolate shake...BUT, Gio has a chocolate allergy so the crew told her "just use your epipen"...like no, how about don't make her do something that could make her sick.
This was definitely based on fear factor. It wasn’t one of those things you would crack up at. It was one of those where you would look away and be disgusted.
Honestly, I think this dare was 50/50. She may have actually had to put some toenails in her mouth, but there is no way she could have eaten all 1000 before they came back from the commercial break. Why? Aside from obvious sanitary reasons, toenails are made of keratin which can't be digested.
I randomly remembered this and wanted to know if it was fake. I really hope it is. That's disgusting. You can't make kids chew on gross stuff like that. What if she got sick?
There is no way this is real. It would be cruel and unusual. It would literally be forcing children to partake in disgusting acts for amusement, the way the men came and grabbed her to drag her down to her fate. On fear factor it’s all a choice the contestants make for a prize at the end, but this has no benefit. It’s sick, and in no way real. It couldn’t be, legally.
This is SO GROSS!!!!! Looking at this 20 years later at 26 is plain disgusting!!!! It was gross when I was 6 but I don't find this funny. I'm sure Giovannie and the whole cast feels completely mortified after watching the Nickelodeon documentary..... The channel itself is ruined. 😩 My childhood is tainted.
@@snoopaloop29 Any dare involving food/ drink consumption had to be simulated for safety/ sanitation concerns. As I mentioned, the material used to make real toenails is inedible.
I never realized how unhappy they looked you can tell they was forced to act
It’s wild how most everyone in these comments thought this was fake or a simulation. When in reality these kids were suffering. Wild!

The “toenails” were probably coconut shavings
This was definitely based on fear factor. It wasn’t one of those things you would crack up at. It was one of those where you would look away and be disgusted.
6:12: Sounds like fighting words! A week later, though, Jack had the dare of literally “being a human punching bag”.
Up close the toe nails kind of look like shredded mozzarella
Or partial onion slices, only crunchier.
I cannot believe Giovannie didn’t even go for a sip of the water she was given!!!!
4:23 Bad luck for you.
Giovonnie said she'll never say if this dare was real or not. But I'm pretty sure the cast members all did at least one real dare.

Also, Lisa said that her "used gum" dare was fake (they used Starbursts) so why won't Giovonnie spill the beans here?
@@aualga So it's possible she may have eaten 100 or 200 real toenails.
@@aualga They could have just substituted and used shredded wheat.
@@drewzuhosky6826 Is it possible to shred wheat like that? And make it look like toenails?
I died when she peppered the toenails. 😂😂😂
Another dan Schindler inspired
Who else?
Not true, Dan was ordered by Nickelodeon to do this skit and he wasn't comfortable doing it.

There had to be at least _some_ simulation going on here.
The dares where they had to eat or drink stuff was fake

Imagine if "Shiela" from "The Amanda Show" HAD to DO this: CAST: Shiela you have to do it
Shiela: EXCUSE ME??? FLUSH FOR 6!?!?!?!?!?!!!
I think about to vomit 🤢!
I don't the expressions on her face aren't acting but real.
oh man how gross
They weren't actual toenails. Real toenails are indigestible. There was simulation going on here.
@@drewzuhosky6826do you still think this after the quiet on set series?
@@SpiritReadz Real toenails are indigestible as they’re made of keratin which cannot be consumed by the human body.
