Jim upgraded the speakers in his main listening area from a pair of Sonus Faber Guarneri speakers to the Bowers and Wilkins 803 D3! These are our first impressions and tests with this wonderful pair of speakers that costs $17,000 !
Subscribe to see more videos about Jim as I will be working on a video in which he explains his second power box in his basement just for his sound system. He also goes into detail about why he prefers digital lossless files to CD's, a controversial subject we know!

Want to record videos like this without spending a small fortune?
Check out this list of equipment below.
    Camera
    Sony ZV-E10 II APS-C $1,099
    amzn.to/4630Hzc
One of the best, if not the best vlogger friendly and livestream camera right now for this style of content.
Think of it as a smartphone on steroids. This is a solid pick if you don't want to spend thousands for the other cameras you see featured on my channel.
    Mics
    DJI Mic 2
    amzn.to/3Y1boQM
Best and excellent mic system that I use that allows the ability to have two people heard. Very simple and easy to set up and put on people. Great range, amazing quality, and awesome charging case with USB-C
    Mic Adapter
    Sony DJI Mic 2 Adapter
    amzn.to/463lZwA
An adapter needed because of Sony's proprietary MI shoe. Needed only if you dislike using a 3.5mm aux cable for audio capture or if you're allergic to unbalanced audio.
    SD Card
    128gb Sandisk V90 SD Card
    amzn.to/3Y2UnFT
Best style card for the type of camera mentioned above. Allows you to maximize the recording capability of the camera.
    Tripod
    Benro Slim Video Kit
    amzn.to/3Rl3LPl
This is a great brand, if you have one already you can skip this. However, everyone should own a fluid head video tripod of some kind for smooth pans, tilts, and general stabilization. I'm not a fan of gimbals, so you won't get a recommendation for one from me.

P F why? The look of the room means nothing. As long as the acoustics are good (and these things are good enough to make up for shitty acoustics) and you had everything wired correctly, it really doesn’t matter what the room looks like.

Vincent Ferreira - You have the right to your opinion and as do I. Never once mentioned the look of the room having any effect on sound either. That’s just stupid and any fool knows that.

Protip : Your gear will sound better if you used shorter speaker cable, and longer balanced interconnect with power amp placed in the middle of the speaker, with speaker cable not exceeding 1.5m. A Good Balanced XLR sounds very good up to 3.5-4.0 M. The highs are smooth, timing improves a lot.

I'm not necessarily trying to be a "negative TH-camr"...especially one that deserves Jim's "FU" comment. But, I would like to point out that while I could buy these without monthly payments, unlike Jim, my priorities would be to have more than a $700 room to place those $17,000 beauties in. Dude...remove the Owens Corning from the windows and pay a carpenter close up the wall. And speaking of walls...WOOD PANELING! Kudos to Jim and his "ZERO FOX" attitude towards room aesthetics...but he just parked a Lamborghini in the hood.

  • @DGFishRfine1

Im sure these are phenomenal, but I'm willing to bet a double-blind test with regular old speaker wire would reveal FUCK ALL differences in fidelity versus his $100,000 silver monstrosity cable :|
Extraordinarily powerful and precise amplifiers, twin monoblocks, magnets, exotic drivers, etc... All work, to an extent.
Cables? Fuck outta here with that shit.
Even if you could somehow hear a difference (you can't), the digital file you're playing off of just went through a crapton of regular old copper and silicon within the circuitry of your hardware... Nevermind that the file itself, even a lossless file, was not transcribed to a digital format using some insane silver wire voodoo magic. It was just regular old copper circuity and silicon semiconductors.
As long as the gauge is up to longer runs and you're using decent copper, it's the same, all the way down. That isn't to say there's *no* value in nice cables (thick ones, pretty ones, etc, all can be nice), but if double blind tests routinely fail to distinguish cable quality, there's nothing more left to be said.
    Fight me, fellow audiophiles

I mean, to an extent, there’s justification spending some money. Silver does make a good conductor and especially in longer runs. 100K is overboard, but I have some AQ cables for my B&W 702s and they look and sound great.

Must have missed the Roger Russell papers on speaker cable. Nice system but complete overkill in that room. Gyp board is better than paneling or the wood ceiling. And paper faced insulation for bass traps? Really. Who is this guy? I get the whole "you can't take it with you", but at least drop 5k in the room and update it out of the 70s.
