Just to solve the washer-gate at the top : As explained beyond, there is the following order : Big washer - shock- big washer- small washer and nut. This setup is needed to install a rear luggage rack, originally from honda, that has a mounting point at the top end. It's forwarded mount is put between the big and the small washer on the top end of the shock. They do it like that in order to prevent scratches on the rack and shocks, make sure the rack fits firmly and to secure tightening the nut correctly ✌️

Looks so much better! And to have adjustability for if you want to ride with someone one the back. Win win. Great videos!

4:05 FYI The Monkey is almost entirely assembled at the factory. The dealership will only needs to install the mirrors and other minor things like hook up the battery cables.

Another helpful video. Nice that you caught the missing washer. The shock absorber upper has the following configuration; large washer, shock absorber, large washer, small washer, mounting cap nut. The lower mount has; shock absorber, one large washer and mounting cap nut. The torque is 21 lbf-ft.

Thanks Apio! I'll adjust the configuration of the washers accordingly.

Nice; suspension is on my short list of next upgrades. I'll be heading towards something less aesthetic (more costly), but I'm also a bit heavier than you are.

You going with the Ohlins? It would match that yellow bike pretty well...

eastcoastish that’s where I’ve been leaning so far. Was also looking at a few of the racingbros options as well, just can’t determine which is worth it.

i wouldn’t worry that much on the washers for the shocks ive had a lot of motorcycles and for some mystifying reasons it seems like the Shock bolts have always been tampered with at one point or another and nothing matches up ? i even had one bike somebody used up nuts on one of the bolts and i rode it that way for more than 10 years untill eventually my local Ace hardware store began carrying a full line of grade 8 high quality Chromed hardware honestly it was super expensive stuff but the owner of the shop wanted to have almost everything possible for his small little town that so happened to have some fancy boat dealerships and several Marinas in the area so he thought it was something they would want he was straight foward to the customers saying he knew the prices were expensive but it didnt have a high profit for him or the store there was also a local Motorcycle Shop and many enthusiasts there as well

Nice video man as always, but why didn't you just painted the original ones ?

Thanks! Had I recolored the ones I had, I probably would have had them powder coated and at a cost not too much less than these new ones I bought. Plus I like the profile of these a bit more (it doesn't have that huge cap at the top) and they are adjustable.

Bonjour, quelle est la marque des amortisseurs s’il vous plait ?
    Sont ils confortables ?

I bought them from eBay: tinyurl.com/s76u8cj from a vendor called YSW-Racing. They are a bit more firm than the stock shocks (which i prefer) and otherwise ride great. Thanks!

You put the OEM tires back on?

I did, felt like riding around on some trails and also decided I preferred the look of the semi-knobby tires.
